I want to become a physician, cardiologist. What are my chances at these schools... especially Harvard during Early action, my dream school? I know my test scores are low, but supposedly they are average for Harvard and the rest. My counselor says that my being 1 of 9 kids in my family might help; can't imagine how though. I appreciate any evaluations on my chances.

Your test scores low? You've got to be kidding me. 33 ACT is very good.

Michigan is your safety, I'm sure. Levels which are on a tad of the safety side are Washington in St. Louis and Johns Hopkins. Harvard, Princeton, and Stanford are reaches for everybody.

"I know my test scores are low, but supposedly they are average for Harvard and the rest. "
I don't know, but that would mean that they are not low.

thanx for the input guyz... i hope you guyz can evaluate my chances at the other schools listed besides harvard then... if it is such a reach....

plus i'd like to add that I work at a car wash every weekend ... if that even counts for remotely anything whatsoever...

I realize that Harvard is a reach.. but what about the other schools on my list?

-Princeton
-Stanford
-Washington University in St. Louis
-John Hopkins
-University of Michigan

plus how do you think i should package my application, in other words.. what do i need to work on or focus on to better my chances(essays, interview, etc)?

lol i still feel like a hypocrite for doing something i said i would never do... get freaked out by college admissions and my chances at schools....

people dont give washington enough credit. it is a really selective school and if you dont show a great deal of interest, they wont accept you either

im really big on showing interest in a school. the 4 oos that i applied to were all sent additional recs and a video by me. i think it is the little things that make such a big difference because there are so many amazing kids out there.

work on your ec's too. the more unique they are, the better. i, for example, make commercials (won a national award) and i have worked since i was 14. its just little things like that that i hope will get me into rice, princeton, chicago, and nyu.

i also think you should do princeton ED. it is much better for undergrad than harvard and princeton is an amazing city. i have a really strong anti harvard biased!

but yeah univ of washington - i wish i wouldve applied there too - it is an azmaing school and just like gtown and chicago, every year it is getting more and more popular and respected.

no. i am a fool and didnt apply ED to anything. i am hoping for 3 of 4, most likely not princeton.

i really advise you to NOT go harvard for undergrad. if you can get into princeton go there.....its so freaking incredible for undergrad. you wont be dissapointed and youll be more qualified because of it

I think you should work on your "hook," and what makes you unique. Also, make sure your essays are amazing. I'm sure you will get into some of these schools.

i don't know why you would start your post off by slamming everyone that uses cc as a tool to gauge their chances by calling them all a loser. i think that is uncalled for. being 1 of 9 kids means that you can claim that you play all infield positions, the outfield, catch and pitch.
