i got my first rejection...from tufts ed 2...and i just feel like the past four years were a huge waste of time...my day now offically consists of crying...going to the mall..and listening to my ipod...all productive activites do not apply to me anymore and are no longer even part of my vocabulary

its not about the fact that tufts was the ONLY place for me in the world

its about the fact that if tufts ed rejected me...my more selective other schools will too..

i reaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllly want to go to brandeis...its like my dream now...i know i wont get in...because if tufts rejected me brandeis will too!

so far i only got into u of wisconsin, penn state, and rutgers...and none of those have much appeal to me

hey it's ok. life isn't over (well...) lol well if i found out that i didn't get into one of my less selective schools, my day would probably be the same as yours. but just remember, wherever you go, you can still achieve your goals and be something as long as you have the drive and passion. and if brandeis is really your dream school, you can always do well in one of the regular schools for a year and then transfer in sophomore year.

It's not about where you go so much as what you do where you go. People get into Harvard from Podunk High School and Andover; same for graduate schools.

anyway, im sorry that you didnt get in morgan. i hope that brandies works out...
i really think that things are supposed to happen for a reason.
so maybe you will get into brandies, find a husband, get married, and send your kids there.
who knows? don't give up hope though, i dont think the tufts sitch was necessarily an indication of your other letters to come! :-)
still smile! ok?

Hey. Don't feel bad. Maybe you will get into brandies. Who knows? If you don't get in, it's THEIR loss, not yours. You can always transfer. Don't worry. Be happy. Don't worry. Be happy. Don't worry. Be happy.

Sorry you're feeling so bad! Please remember that Tufts admissions decisions are often ... well, bizarre. Checking out your stats, you seem to have been in their ballpark, so who knows what factors out of your control may have entered into their decision (geographic over-representation or financial aid situation or the possibility that they already had as many ED kids as they strategized for who play your instrument/sport/EC). This doesn't mean that Brandeis or the other schools on your list will apply the same filter.

The fact that you've gotten into three schools like Rutgers (good), Penn State (very good), and Wisconsin (great!) bodes well for your future decisions. Madison is an amazing place. Hope you'll feel better tomorrow - happier times are coming, really!

I'm so sorry :( I know it can hurt so much to lose your dream even if you know you'll be alright in other places. Just don't lose hope that you'll be happy to the college you do end up in. And don't make it about your worth, admissions can be such a crapshoot that its not even about you. I've seen people who were just perfect for a school get rejected and its heartbreaking but eventually you'll be okay. I know its not much comfort, but I hope you feel better.

ha madison isn't so bad, i dont go there, but ive been to madison a few times (well a lot) and i think its great. plus everyone i talked to says that madison is fantastic.

btw: dont worry about it too much, its not like college decisions will ruin your life. besides, you can still go to tufts for grad school if you want. dont worry, life goes on.

and the truth is that i probably dont belong in tufts
for a number of reasons but mostly intuition

im just afraid that this rejection will have many others following it

and i actually thought my sat score was their average score...i got a 2130 (highest combined)...but i guess not...according to some responses...either way...just wasnt meant to be...

I went back and looked at your stats, I think you have a much better chance at Brandeis. I would have characterized Tufts as a slight reach, but you are on the better side of solid match at Brandeis. Good luck.
