Today my husband brought in the mail and we both were impressed by a Christmas postcard addressed to our daughter from IU. Not only did they have her name in the typed in the greeting, but on the front of the card was her first name drawn in the snow. Quite the personal touch! I'm sure all of the other newly admitted students here got one. Fun, eh? :)

well i got it, but its clearly just a formatted font over a snow background on front. Still, they are making some sort of an effort and it is definitely appreciated. Other schools try this and it just annoys me, but IU knows exactly when and how to do it. You really get the feeling that they want you.

:) Well, heck, I didn’t think they went out and etched my daughter’s name in the snow and took a picture of it. I knew it was some computerized-thing. But, just the fact that they even sent it is a nice gesture.

i’m sorry, my days on the internet have conditioned me to believe everyone to be total morons, please do not take it personally. :P

IU does a great job of making prospective students feel wanted. I don’t remeber a Christmas card back when my S was applying, but they did send out a postcard at some point that showed the back of a jeep driving on the highway towards IU with his name on the licence plate. A nice touch!

(And no, I didn’t think they actually made a special plate just for him!)

I received it, it put a smile on my face. I’m so excited to attend in the Fall that it just got me that much more excited.

IU seriously does a wonderful job of making their students feel like they’re wanted, even though we’re all totally aware that they’re sending the same thing out to thousands of other kids. I got a card from them some time last year that was really cute, it mentioned me graduating from my high school (by name!) and going to IU and ending up being very successful. It was so cute that my mom saved it and put it in my scrapbook! The stuff they send out is really great.

I saved my daughter’s from last year too. It was a seriously nice touch by IU that no other college came close to.
