IU Fry Scholarship 2019

Are there really two waves though? One comment posted a year ago said they pick an initial round and then string people along until March. Also what kids would not accept the full ride to Kelley over another school? I feel like my chances are slim to none now.

In addition to the Fry scholarship, Kelley offers Dean Council scholarships to underrepresented DAs. I was recently told by a Kelley diversity representative that the Dean Council scholarships are awarded to those students who applied but did not receive the Fry. Does anyone have any further information on these scholarships and how, when they are awarded? Thanks!

From last year’s thread, I believe the awards started rolling it out early February. I called Hudson and Holland Scholars Program, and they gave me a range of when the scholarships would be announced February- March. I still have not received any notification about not receiving the Fry Scholarship. Maybe I will this week.

Has your son heard anything yet?

Nothing here.

Received an email today saying my materials are still being reviewed and that I’ll be updated between now and March 1st. I don’t think that’s good news :confused:

I got the email too. Any chance they didn’t send it to everyone that applied and hasn’t heard back?

I don’t know if everyone got it or some people got rejected. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

When you applied, did anyone receive a confirmation email or something saying thank you for applying? I just want to make sure it went through.

Yes! I received a comfirmation email that my application was delivered.

I received a confirmation email as well. Although the first two times I tried submitting it, it wouldn’t go through.

Has anyone received a update on their application status?

Not since the email saying my application was still being evaluated.

Quick update: I called the IU rep (who contacted me initially), and he stated that they received my son’s application and had some system issues that’s why we didn’t receive any confirmation email. Also, he said we will hear from them before March first. Good luck everyone.

Does anyone know when Hudson and Holland scholarships are announced, because they said they gives those scholarships to people who didn’t receive the Fry Scholarship.

@hoosierdaddy123 Did someone from IU indicate that to you? My understanding is that the Hudson & Holland has anything to do with the Fry except for the fact that the Fry is for the full cost of attendance minus any other IU merit based scholarships received. So, the dean’s and H & H would be included in such amounts with Fry filling the gap.

No IU person said it, but I read that from other threads so I may be wrong. I am curious as to when they announce it because last year people found out on February 9th. Did your son apply for H & H? Do you know what stats you need to get it?

Yes, he did apply. The eligibility requirements are as follows:

•Complete a Hudson & Holland Scholars Program application or Selective Scholarship Application;
•Possess a high school grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent;
•Present a combined SAT Math and Evidence-based Reading and Writing score of 1180 or higher, or an ACT score of 24 or higher (scores must be documented on an official transcript);
•Possess a record of leadership or active participation in extracurricular or community service activities;
•Be a United States citizen or permanent resident with a valid Social Security Number;
•Be a high school senior or current undergraduate student;

It is open to everyone but preference is given to underrepresented minorities.

You think they’ll take more fry scholarships then last year?

But don’t you need really high stats for Fry?
