@hoosierdaddy123 I think its the Dean’s Council Scholarship that is the either or scenario. And then Dean’s Council Scholars receive special consideration for Hudson and Holland. At least that’s what the flyer says.
Do you know when any notification of these scholarships are coming out?
No idea on Deans or HH. Some Fry are already out.
My S received Dean’s scholarship around Xmas, $11k.
I am talking about Deans Council which is different for than just Dean’s Scholarship
My son was notified that he did not receive the Fry Scholarship on 1/24, but was told he was a potential candidate for the Dean’s Council Scholarship. He had a phone interview for that on1/27. We have not yet heard if he has received the Dean’s Council Scholarship. My guess is they are waiting for the Hudson and Holland decisions to be made first, but we have no idea.
Did they say he did not receive it completely? Or that it was still under review?
Hudson & Holland scholarships are out. Check your student center financial awards to view.
Got it! Now IU OOS might actually be an option. Does recieving this mean I am still eligible to receive Fry?
I don’t think H&H has anything to do with the Fry process. I was told at Direct Admit Day that the Fry selection process is winding down in next couple of weeks.
I wonder what we’ll here on March 1st. I guess we made it to the next round in the process is some people were already notified they didn’t receive it.
Do you think receiving H & H Scholarship will increase my chances at Fry?
I don’t think receiving H&H has much impact on the Fry. I was told only 8-9% of applicants get the Fry. While not yet eliminated, it feels as the odds are against remaining applicants since some awards have been already communicated. I was also told that if you are being considered for Fry you are not being considered for Dean Council scholarships as they are parallel tracks. It doesn’t make sense to me why you wouldn’t be considered for both but that is what was indicated to me.
@whs2016 what was communicated to me was if you RECEIVE Fry then you aren’t eligible for Dean.
Have some people already been notified that they didn’t receive the Fry Scholarship?
@davidlt1 Yes, it makes sense that you can’t get both as one - the Fry - is for full cost of attendance and the other - Dean’s Council - is somewhere between $10-13k a year depending on funding. I know not being eligible for both seems odd but that is what I was told @ Direct Admit Day by the point person for the Fry. Perhaps a call to Kelley would confirm that.
Do you think some people are still going to be under review after March 1st? Also, is it good that my application is still under review?
Based on my conversation with the Fry contact person, it sounded like decisions would be made by end of February. So, if you haven’t been officially denied, there’s still hope and that’s a good thing.
so have they been notifying people recently that they haven’t been receiving the fry and winding it down? I feel like if they were interested in your application they would interview you before march 1st and have a desision by then.
I’m hoping next week they might request interviews for people and then announce them March 1st. But I do agree, I feel like if they were interested they would have reached out for a phone interview by now. Still trying not to lose hope.
