IU Kelley Petition Tracker 2023

Son rejected. So upsetting.

Can’t say he wants to go there and risk not getting accepted in later when he has other direct admit/ honors options.

Same. He’s so upset. Such a bummer. Bad year to apply and not meet the direct admission requirements outright.

Yep, my son was denied as well. We are OOS. He has a 3.9 UW GPA and just missed the SAT requirement. Oh well. He’s a bit disappointed, but texted me that “we can cross Indiana off the list.”

My son was waitlisted today. OOS, 4.2 weighted GPA, 34 ACT. He didn’t apply by Nov. 1st, we had to petition for direct admit. Can someone here that was accepted tell me of there is a date that direct admits to Kelley have to notify the school. I don’t know how they are going to be able to tell us by April 26th that we are in.

Can you tell me if there is a date your son has to let the school know that he accepts the direct admit? I’m curious how the waitlisted students will know by 4/26

I’m curious about the standard admissions to Kelley. I’ve been reading that if kids are not in as direct admit, standard admissions gets you into Kelly within two years. This is not accurate? I would love to hear feedback on why people are now deciding not to go with the possibility of getting into the school as a standard admit?

For information purpose, wanted to share my daughter received her acceptance this afternoon; it was a long wait since applying for the review in November. She is super excited!

I am so sorry to hear about the ones who did not make it - we were also on pins and needles with mixed feelings if she will make it as this has been one of those unpredictable years.

Can you share if there is a date that she has to notify Kelley?? I’m trying to figure out as a waitlisted student.

It is pretty difficult to transfer into Kelley once you are a student at IU. (I have a current junior at IU and although she is not in Kelley, many of her friends are so that’s how I am aware of the process). They will tell you there are certain criteria that may sound doable, but if you read the fine print it’s difficult, and from what I understand only a small percentage of kids are able to make it happen.

Congratulations to your daughter!

There is not any deadline in the email and based on what I have learned and heard the IU deadline date of May 1 applies here as well - it’s automatic.

Thank you

Same with mine. Missed requirements by a hair and thought this wouldn’t be a problem. Moving on and very happy with other options so all is well that ends well right?..for us all

Thank you, this is helpful.

Interested as well

Where is the fine print? Trying to figure this out now but I’m not seeing anything to suggest other than what they state?

The “fine print” that I gather from Reddit is that no one gets in if you don’t meet the “all B” requirement. One B- in one class and that’s the end of it.

And that includes non business classes, correct?

Once you are an IU student, if you want to apply to Kelley, you can - but it is a step by step process:

Yes. And no W’s either.
