IU - safety?

I'm not sure if there is such a thing as a safety anymore? I am only applying to large state universities (PSU, MD, UF, IU, etc.). So far, IU is my only "safety," but I'm not even sure if that is true.

My ACT comp. is 28
GPA - 3.6 (weighted 4.1)
Some extra-curricular (NHS, Yearbook)
out of state.

Am I crazy to consider IU a safety.

thanks

I'm not sure how ACT scores compare to SAT, so I can't say on that, but your GPA is certainly good enough. It really isn't that hard to get into IU, unless you are a music performance major...

u will probaly get in, in 2010 the admissions standard will go up but even then, you will still get in most likely. ditto on the music performance though

Yes it's a safety, I was OOS with a 3.63 GPA and a 29 ACT and they gave me 6K/year to come here.

thanks a lot. I know there aren't any easy answers - but it's still nice to hear.

You will get in, but don't label IU as safety if your going into music, it would then be a reach. But you will 100% be accepted.
