Please give me your honest opinions guys
Thank you so much!

hi! i think that you have a great gpa, SAT scores are very solid and your awards are very impressive. your satII scores are also great, but i think that you should not send your chem score, it is not necessary unless you retake and break 700. nothing about your extracurriculars is particularly phenomenal… you have some impressive activites but i dont think anything will necessary get you very much atttention from many of these schools, especially because they seem a slight bit scattered. do you have any ideas what you want to do? it seems like you have some emphasis on math/science here so i think applying to a program involving either of those two would be promising. i think penn is a very small reach for you but applying ed gives you a decent chance. northwestern and duke seem like solid matches for you. jhu brown and columbia are all slight reachs too but not out of reach at all… definitely potential. are these all your schools? i think it would be best to have an additional safety… just because with these top schools you never know. hope this helps!

Take a look at common data sets. This is more than 100 points below median at most of these schools and median includes the almost half of the class with a hook.

For any real shot, you need to considerably bring up that score.

as it is shown through my ECs and courseloads, my main focus is on mathematics.
I think i can certainly show my passion for math in my personal essay as well.
Is my CR score that bad even if i apply to UPenn ED as a math major?
I think my math scores, math subject loads, awards, and club really show my strength in math…
What do you think hmom5?

No matter what you apply as, that CR score will be a hindrance for sure. All the Ivies are reaches, but they usually are for anyone. JHU, Duke and NWU are probably slight reach/matches. I think you have a reasonable shot of getting into at least one of them.

I think Penn cares a lot about all scores for all majors. CR is key to so many college classes. You are Asian and from an overrepresented state. You have no major math awards/honors/activities. I don’t think a CR score in the low 600s will fly.
