edit: The website quit on me and I think that there were some technical problems since searching is now disabled.
Here is the edit that I tried to post earlier:
discrete->discreet
agression->aggression
Just so we don't get even pettier in our attacks.

competition? I come here to give people advise based on all of the experiences with transfering that i've been through. If somebody has an honest question or concern and I know that answer, I will not hesitate to help them out. I'm sure there's dozens on these boards that can attest to that. But, I will also gladly call somebody out if what they say is either wrong or stupid.

I don't know what you're referring to, martini - that was the first time I posted on this thread.

Paranoia?

martini, everything that you've posted so far is bullshi.t You are also acting like a 12 year old kid who enjoys only talking about himself constantly. Why don't you try and act more mature and STOP posting redundant information. if you can't do even this just stop posting.

RAFLMAO. "Why don't I stop posting"... ahahaha... you must be mad. Oh, this is great material. I can see the look on your face. Lol... "redundant information". A Harry Potter fan telling me to be mature... Oh no I can't stop. I.. I am suffocating myself... hahaha... the laughter is too vigorous. You are just a little bouquet, man, seriously.I am the only person that answered the op question. Cut the bad language and the aggression or I am afraid you will be the one to leave.

"Word Filtering. The forum will automatically filter certain words, including many swearwords as well as words, websites, and names that have been targeted by commercial promoters here. Please do not attempt to "spell around" the filter. If a term you are trying to use is in the filter, do not use it. Deliberately evading our filter will cause loss of posting privileges."

Actually, several people had addressed the OP's question before you posted.

And as for calling somebody immature because they like Harry Potter? - I think many might take offense to that!

Read carefully, peole have adressed the difference between freshman and transfer admissions but not between junior and sophomore transfer.

Liking Harry Potter is one thing. Picking your moniker based on it is something else.

yeah, i'm sure he/she is definitely immature because their CC username is from Harry Potter. Weren't you the one criticizing others for pointing out spelling mistakes in posts?

You make wrong statement after wrong statement

and even after being proven so you keep coming with new wrong stuff that makes no sense.

I always edit my spelling mistakes right after I post unless cc crashes on me, so I don't think that people have had the chance, but if they did I know they will take it, given how unreasonable they can get after I express my vies of 3.8 and prove them that academics indeed can be enough for Yale.
I believe that you keep coming to my posts and attacking because of an old conversation in which it became clear that you are a 1580-SAT-scorer who got rejected by HY(etc.) and then made a wrong choice. This is not the funny part, nor my point, however; I will never mock you for that. The funny part, is that you pretend that you don't know me despite remembering very well that you have been doing your passive-aggressive compensate-for-your-past-losses attack thing consistently.

woah there.

I attack you when you make pompous statements, which you do quite often. As I can recall, I've only done this three times, and in none of these cases have I ever claimed to "know you" or your circumstances - because they don't matter. What bugs me are your arrogant posts, and I won't hesitate to call you out on them.

Your last post doesn't make sense:

You said I make "wrong statement after wrong statement," yet you show only one wrong statement. You were right in correcting me on that btw.

You go on to say that I keep attacking you because of "an old conversation in which it became clear that you are a 1580-SAT-scorer who got rejected by HY(etc.) and then made a wrong choice." First, what old conversation? I don't think I've ever really talked to you. Disregarding the fact that what you claim to know about me is wrong, why would I want to criticize you for that?

It comes down to you. I'll leave you alone when you temper down your arrogance. You seem like a smart kid; at the good schools I know you'll end up at next year, you'll realize that you don't need to be a show-off to stand out.

I will end with this statement because, I must admit, in spite of my love for debate and practicing my English in any type of argument, this is turning into something of bad taste even for me. I have strong feelings for academia and academic achievements, and maybe I do come a little strong. It is high time that I ended my clownish behavior here, but you must acknowledge that several posts above I tried to invoke peace by saying "lets be friendly and get along" and that the last time after I announced my retreat I was called a caveman.
Apologies to everyone.

Granted. My apologies to you, too.

interesting conversation

Lets get down to business... When it is all said and done can a person with bad stats CC-wise (3.0 1800) have ANY chance of transfering to an ivy from a CC or mediocre state school. You all seem like educated fellows so whats the consensus?

no, they don't, because they aren't being given a reason to.

"can a person with bad stats CC-wise (3.0 1800) have ANY chance of transfering to an ivy from a CC or mediocre state school"

no.

um... the only way to transfer to ivy with a sub 3.3 is to be an athlete, or rich and bribe the school.

Even the ivy athletics departments have pretty high standards - I don't know if a 3.3 would do it, unless you were on the olympic team or something.

Just an athlete.
NYU regeted a guy after his father made a 10,000,000.00 donation.

For Shaganov has a point. Why would a 3.0 from a CC want to go to the most competitive schools? It's like getting your car repossessed and applying for a mortgage. Or like a 100 pound guy wanting to play professional football. Sorry if I am too rude. I know that the ivies are a great place to reinvent yourself but they are above all strong academic institutions.
