Ivy Scholars at Yale University

I got an e-mail (no letter) on the day before the deadline, but I think the Hertog notification deadline is earlier than the others. Anyway, I’m sure you’ll get notification soon, Good Luck :)

GOT IN!!! cant wait for july 24th to come!!!

Has anyone else heard back early decision?

zeena, it’s tough waiting, isn’t it?

our D (rising sophomore) is waiting for an ED decision from the new Global Leaders program. Today seems to be the day they will send those decisions as well ED decisions for the Grand Strategy program.

Based on prior years’ posts, it looks like the practice has been to email decisions in batches based on the applicant’s year in school and the decision.

anaserena mentions July 24 in her post, so I guess she’s been accepted to Grand Strategy which starts that day. Global Leaders starts July 23.

D has just been accepted.

Congratulations!!! I’ll keep you posted.

does anyone know if they notify people who are waitlisted or rejected? or do they just notify the people who got in? And…do they notify by email or by mail?thx!

For Global Scholars and Grand Strategy applicants whose apps were complete by the early deadline, today was the day they emailed all the decisions. ygdxf0709, if you think your app was timely but you don’t have an email by now, try contacting the program office. My sister was accepted by email today and it’s clear that nothing will come by mail for this program.

thank you!

Got in to GS! Good luck to all!

I will see you all there then! Admitted. :)

Will there be a large group of debaters in this program? Or more importantly, will there be debates conducted frequently?

@ComradeZH the archives of this blog give you a feel for what the program was like day to day a couple of years ago: [ILC Yalies](http://ilcyalies.blogspot.com/)

Hey!

I came across Ivy Scholar’s last month, then sent in my application. After a month, I was finally notified of my acceptance into the Summer camp (muahaha~ yay)! Loads of people were mentioning the essay (personal statement) in previous posts and generally stressing its importance. Just want to point out, for those going for normal decisions, don’t worry too much about the small details or the content. Follow the instructions and everything will come smoothly. What’s important is the passion in your writing and to know exactly what you want to achieve in this program, what you want to bring back home from it.

Congrats to those who got in! Looking forward to the Summer!!~ x

From peoples’ experiences, what are Prof. Luong and the other instructors like?

Hey! I was accepted to the Hertog program! It will be awesome to see you all. . .

Oh! Check out this delightful rap I found on youtube about Ivy Scholars. Gotta give the guy props! haha [YouTube - Ivy Scholar Rap](<a href=“Ivy Scholar Rap - YouTube”>Ivy Scholar Rap - YouTube)

hey guys, i was wondering what you all put down for the ‘what are you going to contribute part’, thanks

yay i got in :)! im super nervous! do you guys know what ivy scholars do on the weekend? lectures? thanks!

like the rap :)

yah i heard that we have lectures/seminars from 9am to 10pm pretty much every day, except for one Sunday, on which lectures start at noon. at least, that is how the grand strategy program used to work and since I am gonna be participating in GS…

1.My son is accepted to his second choice. Is it worth to ask the admission to switch the course to his first choice?
2.My son is not a debater but a writer, I would say. Would this programme be appropriate for him?

Thank you.~
