What else can be done to improve my app. My PSAT scores were from what I've heard, the best of any white person at my school. It will be improving when NMS comes around junior year. My goal schools are Stanford, Columbia, UT(auto admisssion anyways), MIT, Vandy, UVa. Physics Major.

Way too soon to tell without SAT scores. Suggest you follow the "Xiggi method" [ do a search of CC] and start studying for your SAT's a lot! That in itself will help improve your PSAT scores, and hopefully move them into NMF range. Good luck and keep us posted.

"the best of any white person at my school"
What???

Looking back on this, I'm doing my job as propagating Texans as ignorant racists, not my intent. What i was trying to get at is that only Asians had superior scores which, from my lurking here on CC, seems to not matter because it seems that colleges generally assume that Asians are better test takers. How much does being a multi-sport athlete and Eagle Scout help me. I may be over-estimating myself but I consider myself an atypical top tier applicant. Is this assessment accurate or am I on track to becoming the typical Ivy applicant. Thank you for all the previous responses and thank you in advance for any future ones.

haha, powerlifting and math team/technology? are you like a nerdy jock or something?

anyway, I would say maybe make good relations with teachers so that they can give you good recommendations in the future? continue working on your community service hours, there this one good program you may want to try for in the near future, Student Conservation Association
