A lot of new CC members coming from the woodworks, I love it!! Welcome you all!
@chintanp .If we go by previous years, then we should hear about finalists in April. It’s likely that some of us will also receive e-mails requesting some more financial information. This can happen anytime really, but from what I’ve seen it usually happens in January/February.
Good luck to those who are about to face their finals soon! I’m gonna try to get JKC out of my head for a while. (It’s harder to do that now, for sure)
@yadav2 My friend got an e-mail like that, but it was because she didn’t submit all of the required financial aid forms (either that or one of them was incomplete.) Perhaps it was the same for you?
At least we have an idea of where the foundation is at with the applications.
I wish the decisions for the finalists would come out in January! I’m so impatient lol, but I strongly believe that everything happens for a reason. So if we are meant to be a finalist than we will. I’m just grateful I’ve made it this far, and I’m able to be apart of this forum. I will pray that we ALL become finalists!
Welcome everyone! Just a quick question. Is there any international student here? I’m an international student. Since my parents don’t have U.S. tax return forms, I submitted a letter of explanation and some income statement provided by my parents’ work place. I didn’t recieve any emails asking for additional information. But I heard there is another international student recieve the email asking for additional financial information. So I wonder what are other international students submit for their financial portion when they first submit the application. Thanks!
Hello, I am an International Student. I submitted the income tax report of my parents by the government. Furthermore, I did receive an email from the foundation asking for additional financial information. However, instead of asking any paperwork, foundation just asked my parents to convert their tax amount (income after deduction) in USD and mention the same in Special Circumstance Box. I think they asked the same because the amount in the income tax report was mentioned in my country currency. Let me know if you need anything from me. Good luck!
@yadav2 Hi thank you for your help! I did submit my finacial information in the first round with U.S. currency. And I was a little bit worry about why I didn’t receive the email asking for additional information. Thank you! Now I feel more relieved… the waiting is real long lol
@bainianjun Hi, I am an international student from India. I haven’t received any email for further information from JKCF. As my parents didn’t pay any tax forms there, I didn’t submit any forms while filling the application. But, I just explained briefly how much money they make and converted into USD. I am waiting for their email.
JKC released the official list of semi-finalists! We were surprised to see one more in our college who hadn’t received any notifications at all and found out just by that list…
My name is under Western Iowa Tech Community College but I never attended that college. Yes, I took an online class and I mentioned in the application form that my current college is XYZ college. I don’t know what to do?
yadav2 I had the same situation as you. I called JKC and they told me it wasn’t a big deal, but the next day I checked the list of the semi-finalists and my name was updated with my main college. So just give them a call. Oh and does anyone know if we will have to update them with our grades for this fall semester?
Hi everyone, can you guys help me to figure out one thing? I’m studying at DCC. The problem is DCC has many campuses and only the main campus offers Honor Program. Will I be affected if I didn’t take Honor Classes, since my campus doesn’t offer any? I was trying to keep my GPA stable as well as doing activities around campus. FMI: I couldn’t go to the main campus because I didn’t have any transportation. P/S: Thank you very much.
