no, not directly. schools have the option to surprise recipients or opt to have a JKCF representative relate the news. once notified, a JKCF staff member will contact you. you will all know by may. also they’re letting us past scholars get involved this year which is cool. so may you all go crazy from nervous excitement until you know.

Thanks @muffinpoptarte now this forum will be going nuts! As stated earlier, they are in California. I just got off of the phone with the foundation and the rep told me winners will be notified via email this week.
@optimisticky Would it be possible to kindly suggest that the support specialists be told this? Because they have stayed firm to the ‘we will notify applicants directly and advisers will not be notified’ line. So you have confirmed directly advisers will be notified?

an agent just told me that they will notify the finalists directly through email within this week. But shouldn’t all the emails be sent at a time? I am freaking out
@sat4498 not exactly. Our semifinalist emails came at different times.
I actually do not know how she found out. Our chapter of PTK has a newsletter that the president sends out and it was in my email this afternoon that she is a winner. However, I am about to go to class and the winner is a friend of mine and we have class together. So I can ask her how she was notified. We are in Southern California. I thought I should also add that she did NOT receive that form to update financial information. So I hope that clarifies that whole debate. I will post in here how she was notified when I get home from class, but it won’t be for a couple of hours.

Yeah it really would help to know if it will be a direct notification, the less waiting the better.
I have a theory @muffinpoptarte , how does it make sense that a newsletter would already go out with the fact she won if we think, logically, today could have been the earliest people could have been notified. Could your PTK President be confused between finalist and semifinalist?
I’m from California – San Francisco, specifically. I’ll let you know if I hear something. But when I called this morning (anonymously) JKC assured me that notifications were not being sent out this week.
So notifications are or are not going out? How long does it usually take them to get all of them out?
There is no way to know how long notification will take. Last year, it took about a week to notify all winners. I know because I was one of the last people notified, and I counted every minute!
Thats what I’m going to do. I live in central IL so I probably wont hear for a bit if i even got it.
