@GreaserGyal It was the same experience for me. It went well overall - I had mine over skype, and I think I swiveled my chair a little too much. They could probably tell I was nervous

Yikes! I got an out-of-state scholarship for UMich, which somewhat helped, but Iām still responsible for about 50k a year, which includes room and board. >:(
I really hope I get this. Emory gave me a really generous fin aid package, but this is literally all I need to have everything covered. BTW did yall get that email with a form asking about local newspapers and radio stations? I think itās just something general that they send to everyone who did interviews, but do yall have any idea why they need that information. Also in terms of notifications, in previous years they said they would notify by June 15th, but a lot of people didnāt hear anything until late June/beginning of July. If New Scholar Orientation starts July 13th I would hope that they notify early enough for scholars to have a few weeks to plan and prepare and stuff.
I think every applicant got that email. They want to know of any local newspapers and radio stations so that if you receive an award, they foundation can inform these areas about any local scholars. Itād lead to interviewing opportunities, and itās definitely something for the community and awardee to be proud of.
@QMusic OMG I love Emory! Are you a scholar? (jc) I would have gone there too if I were actually able to afford it. Itās an awesome school! and last year they got back to me by June 10th, which was a Friday so hopefully youāll hear back from them this Friday both in an email and phone call

They usually donāt send out emails during the weekend, so weāll have to wait until Monday. @kels2000 where are you from?
Iām in the West Coast region so I know I wonāt be hearing back for a while which doesnāt help my nerves. Congratz to the winners though!

@evodie Mine went alright I guess!! They called me 20 minutes late so I was late for my prom meetup!! I was also very nervous but we will see I guess. I am on the west coast and I am still waiting for an answer!!
Congrats to all that have heard thus far. I went through the entire process much like everyone else. Got the letter stating they are still deciding and asking for local newspapers and radio stations. However. I was told by a a few friends that also applied that they did not get such a letter. I am awaiting an answer but graduate this week therefore I canāt give it too much energy.
One day more until the Western region gets an answer!
