Hello all, I’m currently finishing up my last year at a community college in Texas and planning on transferring to a university in the fall of 2016. My GPA is currently a 3.903 out of 4 due to one B that I made in a dual credit class in high school. I plan on studying Petroleum geology or some sort of geology that will get me into the oil and gas business. I was wondering if anyone knows if UT Austin will be a good place for me and what are my chances of getting in? By the time I transfer I should have 60 credit hours.
anybody?
Jackson isn’t as competitive as most of the other schools within UT. I would say your chances are very good if you keep your GPA up.
thanks for the reply, I hope your right haha!
If your essays are good and you display a lot of interest in geoscience, you should be fine.
ok sounds good! hopefully I can craft up a good essay.
I had just got off the phone with one of the advisors there and they said that they only accept 7 out of 120 students that transfer externally. Is that really true?! That seems like a very small pool of students with a chance of getting in. Is a 3.93 really enough to get in? Any thoughts would be appreciated
