One more question... is this only for freshmen, only for transfers, or for either? Thanks!

Freshmen. asdf

I'm guessing the low yield is because these are the cream-of-the-crop students and they decide to go elsewhere. I don't think anyone shoots to get the scholarship; it'd be pretty hard to, considering there's not info about it.

^Totally true. This scholarship is aimed to take kids away from Stanford and other top schools. Out of the 3 accepted to stanford from my HS, 2 are going to UCSD for this scholarship.

o_o Wow, congrats to those who got it! I'm envious of you guys!

To those who got it, could you tell us a little about yourselves like stats, ECs, major, etc.? (Just curious.) Thanks and congratulations!

as far as ec's go, i was a FBLA officer on a few different levels. i wasn't extremely involved in too many others, but i also play flute and was a part of speech and debate, interact, and this local student organization. a little swimming. nothing amazing.

for other '10 jacobs scholars: is there anything we need to do right now to confirm the scholarship (i only sent the reply card back in may)? i haven't been getting any emails about it, and i'm not sure if i should be worried or not. i'm also not going to be home for the next two weeks, so i can't check my mail. thanks!
