<p>Hey, just wonderin, what's the likelihood of finding some good guys to jam with in Columbia? I dunno what the scene is like. I play bass, and if I were to come to Columbia and bring my bass, i wouldnt wanna have lugged it all the way for nothing.</p>
<p>So is anyone knowledgeable regarding the ease in finding other musicians to jam with (guitar, drums, sax, etc)? Also, are there school facilities (amps, drumset) one would be able to use to play with?</p>
<p>Hey. I play Alto Sax and Tenor Sax (as well as Oboe and English Horn). If you are interested in jamming, I'd be pretty down. Columbia has a ton of musicians who are willing to play. I know a friend and I are trying to get a jazz band started.</p>

<p>yeah tofu, im curious about the music facilities for an issue like yours. If the school has the facilities, and if students have access, then the school drum set may be of use, as would like amps.</p>

<p>Guys, if I'm not mistaken, Columbia is currently undergoing a project where a very large music instrument room is being added on to one of the dorm buildings for people with similar music hobbies (eithery John Jay or Wallach, Or Carman, LoL, I'm too lazy to look it up). But either way, it should be ready (or it already is) when we get up there.</p>

<p>Yup... trombone and another sax would be good too. I have a Fender Strat too. Recently, though, I've been playing piano a lot more.</p>
