I wanted to give the best description I could so that people could try to chance me. I love everything this school has to offer and hope what I have is simply good enough.

Is your GPA weighted or unweighted? Does your school provide ranks?

Unweighted. I’m also in the Top 10% of my class out of about 315 people.

I know someone who got in with stats similar to yours (including the low SAT score), but she was an in-state applicant which meant less competition.
Out of curiosity, why do you want to attend JMU?

Although out-of-state, JMU is still pretty close to home. The campus is beautiful and the whole environment is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Thank you so much for answering by the way.

I have the same issue with my sat scores being the only thing dragging me down, but I am in state with jmu as my top choice. I applied early and I’m getting very anxious.

@mkalski3‌ I’m extremely nervous to hear back. I believe that my EC’s are fairly strong and my class rank and GPA are strong as well. I have a really good recommendation letter and wrote the optional essay about my passion for dentistry and how it’s driven me to follow my dreams (I recently placed 2nd nationally in a dental competition). Hopefully it’s enough to compensate for my SAT scores.
