Son was accepted. Out of State - NJ. Do not see anywhere if he was accepted into Business School, or just the school in general. Does that come later? Merit - does that come later>
@mags425 from JMU’s website:
All students admitted to JMU, and in good academic standing, may declare a major in business and take lower-level business courses. To enroll in upper-level business courses, students must formally apply for acceptance to the College of Business. Students may submit an application for formal acceptance during the semester in which they are completing the lower-level BBA core courses.
Requirements to continue pursuing a B.B.A. degree are described below:
Students are formally accepted into the College of Business as a B.B.A. major and permitted to register for COB 300 when the following requirements are met:
A completed application for acceptance into the College of Business is submitted to the CoB Academic Success Center according to the following schedule: November 1 for upcoming Spring semester; April 1 for upcoming Summer session and Fall semester;
All 8 lower-level B.B.A. core courses are successfully completed;
Students with a 2.7 B.B.A. core GPA are assured acceptance into the College of Business and COB 300; and
Acceptance is granted within one calendar year of the applicant’s first application. Two applications, in consecutive semesters of enrollment, are permitted.

Hope that helps. Yes, merit comes later but others will need to tell you when to expect that as I do not recall.
Thank you bboop42 - very helpful
did anyone hear about scholarships?
not yet - home they are soon to follow…

You usually apply to those later.
D was admitted OOS - I am having trouble bringing up the decision letter when I push “view communication” - is this happening to anyone else? Wonder if the system is overloaded with people going into the portal for admission decisions(??).
