<p>Hi, I was planning on going to the James Scholar Program on April 5th, but it says it is full. Is it still possible to attend, because I already bought plane tickets from Maine all the way there!</p>

They let me in for the admitted students day that was full, but said they couldn’t for James Scholars</p>
<p>Even though you were told that, I won’t hesitate to show up and see if they truly turn you away. I believe they will let you in as some of the people who registered to attend will not be there so there will be space available. Also check back just before the day as some people may cancel at the last minute.</p>

<p>I’d show up too. I’d probably just pretend I didn’t know the protocol. You have to learn to work the system a bit at a large school.</p>
<p>Thanks for your advice guys! I was able to go, and my friend who didn’t even apply to UIUC was able to attend as well :)</p>
