ok...only THREE more posts to go...JM you can do it! I can hear the Champagne bottles popping as I type (or maybe it's just gas!)

Actually, its God's sake.

LFWB..doing a lot of praying here?

She's killing us with suspense! I am sure 1000 is going to be a REALLY good one - start a new, FUN thread, Jamzmom!

a separate game: the first person to post in this thread "1000!!!!!" after her 1000th post wins.

It is 8:50 PM here on the east coast, JM is 2 away from the big 1K...I can't take the suspense...will it be on the 13th or the 14th?
Well, I am off to watch "24" after which, I will begin writing my concession speech to Weski while I mourn the cyber prize that could have been mine!

(psst...JM, I know that you are under a lot of pressure here. Just be mindful that your 1000th post can just be just a short little note, nothing extravagant, in case that's what is holding you back )

I bet she waits a few days....at least!

Let's see if I can get a response.

Godiva chocolate looking for Southern women with refined sense of taste to sample new products.

better yet,

USMMA mids get unexpected week of leave because the Supe is such a nice guy and the students have worked so darn hard this year!

USNA09mom- that was good! But.....

She will wait for 2/14...it ranks right up there with the high holy days for all true chocoholics!

And it will be on the USMMA site- she's loyal, through and through.

And it will be a new thread- no doubt one that will have us all rolling.

And hopefully it won't embarrass Jamz- too much! ;)

And if the gods really shine down upon her, perhaps it will even be to announce the appointment of a certain plebe-to-be to a certain academy on LI.....

Not too much longer to wait- watch, just at the stroke of midnight!! Might even have to wait up for this one! :)

Navy2010 - I think you are on the right track!
But she's tricky, that Jamzmom! Anyone who drinks sweet tea & Merlot; eats shrimp 'n grits, yellow BBQ, chocolate, etc., and makes daily trips to the Post Office with more goodies, including jerky for her dear Jamz - clearly she is the Best on our Board (especially for USMMA). We are in awe (no shock) to thee, Jamzmom! (Beat Coast Guard!)

Eureka!
Applications being accepted for Service Academies Parent of the Year!

Well now that you posted that diet, maybe she's spending the night over the t-bowl.....shrimp and grits and merlot and chocolate would do me in for sure!!!

On second thought- she is tough as nails- no doubt she is SITTING on her fingers right now trying to restrain herself from her keypad just ITCHING to post!!!! Have full faith that she will return with a flurry of 'em.....she will be on a mission to boost the KP posts past Navy's for sure! ;)

No doubt she is fretting as we speak, trying to come up with "just the right thing" for her 1000th! Taffy - hope you have a front row seat buddy!

1000!!!!!

i win (at my own game)

There you are taffyman. YOU WIN!!

Taffy -as winner, now you HAVE to go to King's Point!

I was hoping that he'd tell me that after a great deal of thought, he'd decided KP was the right one for him.....Then I would have saved the news for the big 1000. Alas, I have to wait & wait some more now.

Navy2010, if you take out weski's yellow BBQ, I truly have consumed all of those things in one setting. It was bliss.

I am really trying to get the whole grits and shrimp thing- honest, I am- but somehow I can't get past the whole scampi thing- and grits seem like such a breakfast item- and shrimp anything but the first meal of the day- and you will have to educate me on what is a "yellow b'bque" as I have not the foggiest-

now the merlot and chocolate I can fully appreciate! :)

From SC Barbeque's website: http://www.scbarbeque.com/History.html

North and South Carolina share three of the four types of barbeque sauce that Americans normally use. But only South Carolina is the home of all four.

The one distinct to South Carolina and the one that people most often think of as South Carolina style - Mustard Sauce. That sauce is the product of the large German heritage found in South Carolina. These German settlers brought with them, in addition to their European farming style and the Lutheran Church, the common use of mustard.

weski- thanks! that recepie has my mouth watering for some "B'bque!"
My mother-in-law was born and raised in Germany- came over here at 9 years of age- I don't think she has ever served this, although she makes some awesome ribs and saurbrauten! And all these years when I was inviting the gang over for a barbeque I was really inviting them to a grill! Who knew!

Well I am going to try this one out this weekend- if I can find the grill under the huge heap of snow out back- will have to hunt down some wood chips though- wonder if waldbaums will carry them? ;) I'll let you know how it turns out!

Man, go away for a day and miss everything. JM is sitting at 1029 on the 15th, so I'm going to have to follow her posts around some.

Congrats Jamzmom, you're definitely "Service Academy Parent of the Year," (with lots of runners up right in there with you.)

And this is kind of late, but to Weski,

I was born in California (5th generation, Great-great Grandfather was an original '49er.) Grew up in Reno NV where my wife and I met. Got married and immediately moved to Philadelphia for the adventure. Lived there 6 years and had two kids, moved to Atlanta for a year and a half.

Loved the Northeast and the South, but we're really westerners. Decided it was time to go back home and Boise had good schools ,work and wide open spaces. Been here 11 years.

The daughter, Navy_Hornet, is in touch through e-mail with several Air Force SS session B cadets. If you know anyone who is interested in getting together before they get together let me or her know.

Still waiting on NASS. Hear they take a while.
