OOO I'm guessing February 12... she's only 11 away now, surely she can hit it tomorrow!

Boy, I was way off, thinking the 24th. Only 9 away on Saturday the 11th. I guess we've all got JM gabbing again, which is a good thing.

Prayerful mom, we used to live in South Philly, a block from the Italian Market (Yo, Rocky!) Pat's or Geno's was always a big debate, kind of like Reps and Dems. I ate at Cinderella's on Chestnut street a couple times a week, Cheese Steak Special for about $2.99 and you could watch them make it. And a kielbasa from a street vendor was pretty good too. And don't get me started on Philly soft pretzels (with mustard.) Really no good regional food in Boise, since you can get potatoes everywhere.

oooooh, marmadillo...I think all bets closed on 1/31 :)

and Cougar, so right about the soft pretzel & mustard!

Cougar, how did you get from S Philly to Boise???? That is really a stretch! Where can you bust a move in Idaho? ;)

So. What are the odds up to? And who's the bookie? I bet its Boss. This is the funniest thread. Every time someone says Jamzmom, they go off on a food conversation. Interesting. Makes me hungry for sure. Shrimp & grits anyone?

hell-o JM..hope your feeling better...now please, no need to reply just yet, might want to save a few posts til Monday :)

Son had Shrimp & Grits for the first time last week; said it was pretty good! From a kid that wouldn't eat em when I made them at home. Of course I never eat them except at the proper time between 0600 and 1000. Whoever heard of eating them at night!

In an effor to lure you out a bit early . . .what is your favorite recipe JM?

Taking the bait only because I wonder how much Bill has wagered. Ya know guys.... It may have to be today cause the 13th will be a day of rest before the 14th. The 14th will be a day of work & toil for me. Waiting by the door for the chocolates to arrive then will be too busy pushing my finger into hundreds of chocolates to discover hidden fillings before I consume them. Then there will be that huge mess to clean up as well as laundry from all of the melted chocolate smears on clothes that tend to occur.
Marm & Prayerful Mom will win today, if I can find the oompah to make it happen! :)

This is no easy recipe but I have had enjoyed this from a place called Magnolia's in Charleston and it was to die for.

Grits.....I am not sure I could eat more than one grit. Up north....

That sould do it!!!

Grits are just white polenta

I would add some garlic to the grits and use lamb sausage instead of italian. Just some suggestions. But it sounds pretty good etiher way.

JM- well, 2 feet-plus and still snowing! Now they say it won't stop until 8 or so tonight! Hope Jamz is enjoying his first blizzard! (by the way, it is now officially the second largest snowfall in NY since they started recording in the late 1800's!) A few more wee inches and it will take the record!

Happy posting!

JM: final tally: 29 inches- a new NY record (previous one set 50 years ago- go figure!)

I can't comprehend it.... I just can't. This is funny. The Jamz calls and says, "Hey Mom, you can't walk out there in like regular shoes". There was dead silence on my end of the phone. And then all I could say was "Brilliant!" I've raised such a smart boy. This, in the middle of an evening I just spent with a bunch of scientists talking about their hydrogen fuel cell powered cars & trucks. Did you know that there is a even a UPS truck running around out there on a fuel cell? How awesome is that! I want one. Splittin' atoms in my proton exchange membrane would be fun. Those people can drink more scotch than Bill ever dreamed of. This made me miss my big post for the 12th so its prolly gonna happen on unlucky 13..... Who had 13 & what do you win?

Not on the 13th! Bad luck! Then Prayerful mom wins! Get all the love on Valentine's Day! Virtual chocolate, wine and roses coming at you! ;)

Some random pics the day after the storm in Connecticut. JM note:some extra ones added.

Boss - Sure glad I don't have your driveway to shovel - hope you have a snow blower! Looks like the "sun will come out, tomorrow!" and it's a beautiful day in Conn.

hello JM...where are you???

Congrats prayerful mom - you hit 300!!! No fair trying to provoke JM until tomorrow!

Oh my goodness, I did not even notice...I was distracted by some nasty posts that I just read!

Thank you Weski for noticing....But I'm still going for the gold...JM 1k on 2/13 ... and then you get the siver :)

Oooooo! Its so hard to keep my mouth shut and my hands still!!! LOL
Boss emailed me pix of the snow in addition to those posted here. Oh wow. I know you guys probably just hate all the mess but it has to be the most glorious stuff to behold I've ever seen. In the email pix, there was one where the sun must have been shining alittle bit because it looked like diamonds laying in marshmallow fluff. It is just too pretty. Like a painting, I can enjoy it from afar. Sooooo makes me want to come up there and do snow angels in a bad way. And have hot chocolate to warm my hands on. Where's my snow man Boss!?!? His name has to be Henry and he must have a blue scarf. sigh Too powdery to make one I'd guess. Thanks for posting the photos. It gave me the most genuine smile to see them. Mother Earth sure knows how to put on a show!
