Jan 2008 Math

yeah i think carsonnes right unfortunately for me...it may not be negative of positive but i think its still an integer

i emailed my math teacher earlier, he said that 0 really depends what your asking.

trust me griffon.. its 26.6 lol its not that easy lol. I and you the problems you do are probably for the middle or easy questions.. this is the hardest question on test.

Then only way the thing you did would work is if they had DIFFERENT distances (not 10 miles for both) then you're right.

ne1 know about the # line q

no its 4.. i looked in barrons they said 0 was. And we usually don't pick zero b/c most questions ask "what nonzero integer?"

dont worry i got that wrong anyway lol... forgot about the 1,2, and 3

0 IS an integer.....it is NOT a whole number.....it is NOT a negative OR positive integer...but it IS an integer...lol....not ambiguous at all....some people might forget about the zero..but again..thats what college board intends to be the trick of the question....

6= number line question

talking about the sat is addictive, lol. i guess we all want to know what we got.

line number one was 6

hey...everyone...i don't wanna spend the whole evening here...how about...we all just go and do something fun on a saturday night...and no one post anything anymore....

nvm..that was probably a useless proposal...

someone mention another, NEW math problem, icant remember any more offhand.

i'm stuck here for a while and it isnt night here yet, lol.

lets just stop talking about it then....talking about it won't help our score....knowing that we got something wrong..won't make it right....but i agree..this is addicting....cause i wanna know what i got...

What was the answer with 2n+8 and cups that were stacked together?
I think I put "B" as an answer, but I think it is wrong.. *****. I thought about putting "C" but wasn't sure.. does anyone know???

ahah i cant wait to see what i get... but after today im not gonna thikn (too much school work) then ill get my score.. and compare answers.. and move all my sat study work somewhere untill May 15 when ap exams are over (to study for June SAT)

I think this thread has gone through all the hard ones, carsonne

predictions for math?

Assuming the answers are w/2 and root 2 -1 and 26.6, I missed 2 or 3

What is -3 on math?

for the cups i guessed "c". the ones that didnt mention height were irrelevant and thus wrong.

and so far i know i missed one, maybe 2 depending on that small circle radius one. yeah i guess i'm not going to worry about score any longer so i'll be done posting. lol.

altho one more:

was the one for find the degree measure of "y" 75?

yeah same here flux... i got 26.6 and 4 one.. wrong.. probalby 1 or 2 more careless errors. But hey those 2 WERE the last questions on their respective sectiosn so im not that mad.... who knows the curve might be good and let us still get 730ish or more (if i get 3 or 4 wrong)

yea..the curve is more a less the same for every test(give or take 10 points)....if you get one wrong...expect 780ish...2...760ish....3(then ur screwed by the -1 for 3 wrong answers)..and goes down to 720ish.....any more then 4...your borderline 700...

i thought it was ((root2) - 1)/2 ...?

The cups one was C, I got it right but I seriously freaked out over it. In retrospect it is very simple, because after the height of the initial pail (8), you add on the 2 (the top of the next pail that's sticking out of the pail before it) for each pail you stack on.

It's only hard because they give you a million numbers symbols and diagrams all at once and it just overwhelms you.

well, the "n" was the number of pails, and I got confused because, shouldn't it be 2(n-1) + 8 because the first pail does not have the "lip" part that is counted
