How many think they need a retake? When are you planning on doing it?ASAP or after a while? Thanks guys.

Wow, where do you live? I still haven't taken it!

how come? day break is early hear LOL

Mine finished 2h 30mins ago. It was the longest morning of my life, dammit! I think I will retake in autumn.

Is it good to wait and practise for a good long time b4 u take ur test again...or is it better to do it ASAP b4 all test taking skills vanish??

^I'd recommend to leave SAT COMPLETELY until summer, where you study hardcore. This is what I'm going to do, since if I space myself out during the rest of semester 2, not only can I concentrate better on my APs, but in Psychology there is this thing called "spacing effect" where you get to learn something better if you give it some time for info/strategies to "sink in" without even practicing.

PS: My 1st SAT --> Jan 26th. My 2nd (and probably last SAT I) --> Oct

why utilize a whole summer just for the purpose of SAT studying? He/she could be so much more productive in other things like EC's/volunterring/research rather than SAT studying.

For juniors, I would disagree. Senior year is insane as it is, the last thing you want is to add more to your plate with SAT testing. Get it out of the way as soon as you can. Also, there are fewer test days for senior year (2-3 depending on whether you're going for early applications or not) so there's the added pressure of not being able to/having limited opportunities to retake.

I took the SAT in jan and I'm sitting the next one out so I have plenty of time to prepare for the next one and if I STILL need to take it again (hopefully not) I will have time at the beginning of senior year

I'm taking all of them until I get a good score. I took my first one in January(should have taken it in December first to get a feel!), and I already signed up for the March. I signed up for March just 3 days after I took the January one. I know that doesn't seem right, but I can tell that I didn't get a 750+ or anything on each section. I might even sign up to take one after March even if I do good on it. I can't tell exactly what score I get though after I take it. For all I know, I got a great score on the January test.

My goal was 700+ on each section, and if I get that score on all 3 sections and I already have another SAT coming up, then I'll just try to get a 750+ on each section to really separate me from everyone else. A 1400 is great, but a 1500 is better, especially for advanced colleges.

Oh... Well, I thought that I'd be better off concentrating my fire on the APs, so that I make sure I get all 5s, rather than study (except for vocab, which I believe you should still memorize 5-10 per day) for an SAT that is months away (months away, that is, if you're taking the SAT in Oct)

Sooner or later, depends on my score that I get now. First time 2200+ and perfect Math score, I'm done!

Less than perfect Math score and/or 2200-, then I'll retake.

takin in march, and june, and october, and november, and maybe for the heck of it in jan again if my scores are limp.
