If an adcom gets to my app before my Jan SAT scores arrive, will they read my app and make a decision anyways? Or will they put it on hold?

Perhaps, if the rest of your app is good and they actually do want to wait for the score, they'll put it on hold, but if they think your score isn't going to affect their decision, they'll make their decision?

hidoing guys so ijust want to ask 1 question please answer if you know so im i-20 student istudy language course right know im 22 years old so i want to go college like harvard or MIT for full schoolarship so which test shuld i have to pass i prepared foe sat somebody says sat only for high school and idont know right know idont know what test i have to preaper to coolege toefl o sat or act please give me some opinion factsthat which test i shuold to preaper thank you guys.

i was wondering about that, too. i took the sat in november, sat IIs in december, and i deffo have to re-take the sat in january. deadline is jan. 1st. date of test is jan 23rd, so scores will not reach the university until mid-february. then again, they say that they will only be finished with the whole admission process end of march. so it should be ok i guess. also some students told me it was ok… lol i am just still a bit insecure about it. but what should we do anyway. if we have to re-take it, we can just pray that they wait for the scores ^^

farrukh- it’s an incredibly complicated process, and as an international student who is 22, i’m not sure if things would be the most favourable for you. i would advise calling the admissions office at harvard or mit and discussing your situation with them.
as for the tests, you need to take the either the SAT or ACT and score really well on them (2300+ or 35), the TOEFL, and 3 SAT 2s. On each exam you have to do really well. Not only that, you also need to have other credentials, such as achievements and extracurricular. i would advise you to create an account on commonapp.org and see what the criteria are. if you are an average student abroad, then the best path for you would be to choose a university in your own country and continue studies there. but if you have a distinguishing characteristic in you that these colleges can see, then you might have a chance. call the admissions office first.
