January 2011 - Math Level 2

i think most of the ppl agreed that it was 18.3…btw did the circle question asking for the chord have an answer of 7.98? and were there two answer choices that were 7 point something or only one?

I can’t remember what the answer was, but you had to use the law of sines to figure it out. The radius of the circle was five, but I can’t remember the internal angle of the chord.

It was 7.99, I am sure…

I think the angle was 106…the radii were 5, so I decided to use the law of cos and got that answer.

That entire math test is a blur to me now, but I think I remember 7.99

does anyone remember the question about stem and leaf data?
did the question ask to find mode or median?
I cant remember… :(

it was median…and were there two choices that were 7 point something on the circle chord problem…because i know that i put something with a 7 but im not sure if i put 7.99??

Yes I put 7.99 too
and can anyone explain how to get 3. something for the interest?
the original amount of money was $1250 and it tripled during 1970-2000.
and the question was like what is the rate/ interest?

I kept getting 1.037

Exactly - 1.037 means 3.7 % increase ;)

oh my godd…
I feel sooo stupid… haha

both were in the answer choices right? LOL

the median question I averaged the 9th and 10th values and got like 36.5 or some number like that

^ yeah same here

me toooooo

does anyone remember the question about the counterexample to the statement “if 2 and 3 are factors of n, then 5 is also a factor”? was it A.) 6?

It was 6. That one was pretty straightforward. The only other answer choice that was a multiple of 2 and 3 was 30, which was obviously wrong.

i remember answering 16/81 in one or something like this where there were simple fractions and a wierd one like that… was it in the even numbers propability question with {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9}? Does anyone remember that question:(?

The correct way to solve it was nCr(4,2)/nCr(9,2). I can’t remember what that yields, but you could just plug it into a calculator.

EDIT: it yields 1/6

do you remember what the question asked for?

and im screwed i just got my second mistake (i have 3 omit’s too) after a quick galnce at the forum

It asked for the probability of drawing two even numbers from the set. You had to find the number of possible combinations of even numbers and divide it by the total number of possible combinations of two numbers. It ended up being 6/36.

^don’t worry, you’re still in range for an 800. I too have 3 omits and 2 mistakes.

wow its seems so straightforward now… 4/9 x 3/8 … it didnt seem that way after two subject tests and little sleep:( im sure though that i wont get an 800… i estimate having made at least 2 more mistakes

I’m predicting a 750+ on this but my goal was 800. Cancel or no? What would any of you guys do?? I’m so stuck~
Also, would it look bad to have both a 750+ on your record and a retake that is hopefully an 800?
