@Exeterlover Definitely use Barron’s for Math Level 2. It’s really good.

@Hawkace Did you complete all the lessons from cover to cover?

@Exeterlover I just skimmed over the lessons. For anything that I didn’t know, I did the problems. Also, do the practice tests because they are very important.

I got a 770, is that good enough for Ivies?
This is my first SAT II, so I have nothing to compare it to,

Should I retake?

730 for me… Idk, I used Barrons, but a lot of their stuff wasn’t really even that useful on the actual test, unless I didn’t read the book well enough. But then again, I was scoring like 630-70 so idk

I guess I’ll be retaking it during ap season/1month after

Is retaking it 2 more times a bad thing? (This is my first time, but jw if I screw up again)

@Joe2015 I’m in the same boat as you. I got a 780, but I don’t know if this is good enough for Ivies.

@Exeterlover I really worked through the barrons book and basically learned each section because I had a lacking foundation in Algebra II

but YES I got a 800, hopefully this will make up for my mediocre SAT I score

@loltired Congrats! <:-P I still don’t know what I should do with my 780. :-/

@Hawkace thank you! And a 780 is great! Congrats on that! :-bd

Thanks!

Here the are steps I took to score 800:
- Took the diagnostic test first from Barron’s
- Analyzed the results
- Went through the study material and focused more on weaker area
- Completed all practice tests; timing improved after couple of tests. On an average I was scoring 720
- I also took the practice test from college board subject test book, scored 800
- In total I must have practiced about 7 to 8 tests

790

I have no idea if I should retake or not. I really wanted an 800 and I knew how to answer 2 questions that I omitted right after time was called. I just don’t want this to be the thing that makes me less “qualified” than another student to get into a school. I want to go for computer science and I know some schools are extremely competitive.

Any advice?

Guys I’m getting nervous. I haven’t received my score yet… :((

@Zhirayr There might have been a problem with something you bubbled or your info in which case it’ll take a bit longer to get it online. But don’t be worried.

Oh Ok. Now I realized something :DDD. Thanks.

Got an 800! :D

@Exeterlover: I do not recommend Barron’s as heartily as I recommend Dr. Chung. I used Barron’s the first time I took it and got a 750; this was my second time, and I used Chung. If you can, I’d recommend getting both. Use Barron’s to build a foundation that teaches you the harder side of concepts, and use Chung to learn to apply the concepts to hard problems. Chung’s 57 perfect tips are amazing, so I recommend going through them all. Do a few Barron’s practice exams untimed to learn, do one or two in Barron’s timed, and do all the ones in Chung timed.

I’m actually putting together a study plan for those interested, so if you’re interested, feel free to shoot me a PM.

@TeamrocketGrunt What was the curve?

And BTW guys, Collegeboard hasn’t taken the money from my bank account… Does it mean anything?

It seems that a raw score of 44+ = 800. The cut off might actually be 45 but 43 is a 790 for sure.

Thanks, What about the money guys?
