***January 2014 - Math Level 2***

Thanks everyone! Yay for Barrons!
Congrats for all the good scores too! Hawkace, I don’t think you need to retake. I was thinking before checking my score, what if I got like 780? I thought I wouldn’t retake if I got that score. It’s a great score, good enough for every school, imo.

@shmluza what about a 770? Good enough?

Got a disappointing 660… I really need help with this… Any suggestions? Probably will take it again on May or June. I really want to cry…

@youngbin1130 Don’t you think about it anymore. You’d better concentrate on studying, and next time you’ll do it. Though I haven’t received my score yet, but I think I’ll get something like 650.

I don’t even know if I should retake it or not… I made a really stupid mistake on that law of cosine problem and omitted one.
Any suggestions?
Should I retake it?

Do you mean that one blank and one wrong answer gives you the score 790? Or you skipped more?

@Zhirayr Right. I’d better move on and start studying for it again. Thanks for the comforting words…

You’re welcome.

In my personal opinion, if you were to get a 750 or higher and you’re applying to ivies or ivy-caliber schools for non-math/light math majors, you’re fine. I’d assume if you were to be an applicant for a more math-intensive major, a 780+ is a good indicator of sufficient math competency. It definitely shouldn’t keep you out unless you’re unhooked and applying to a CalTech or an MIT (even then it isn’t too bad).

Personally, I received a 770 and I’m ecstatic. I didn’t do as much preparation as I should have and got a 580 on a practice test two nights before (obviously the test seems to have been harder than the actual one in order to prepare you better). I left the test thinking I got about a 710 and so this was a great surprise for me. I applied for business/economics majors and feel as though my 770 will do me well.

I hope everyone else got scores that pleasantly surprised them as much as my score did for me!

800…yessssss

Oh, I looked at Barrons the night before and studied on the drive to the test center…lol…I thought i got a 790 haha

Got an 800!!! It was my first one too and I only studied the day before :D

I used sparknotes to study and It was actually not that bad. Also for ivies you need at least 780+ to be considered good, the higher the better

Got a 760 :frowning: will retake

790… retake? ■■■ lol

Guys, I have left blank 7 questions. is it possible for me to get a 790? ( If everything else is correct)

nope 44 was the cut off for 800 so prob a 780 assuming everything else is correct

I feel so bad…I thought id be getting like 770+ but I got 760…should I retake if im applying to top schools next year…and if not what do I have to do in order to offset this score

Pls dont judge I know I did badly and im just reall unsure on what I should do next. thanks

@doctator Why would we judge? There are people here who got below 750’s. We know that they tried their hardest. As for me, I got a 780. What colleges do you in mind?

800
got a 650 the first time LOL
