***January 2014 - Math Level 2***

@ecouter11: What’s the specific question? 3D graphing isn’t really needed for the SAT II Math.

I took my fourth Chung test (timed) and got a 730. Either test four was easier than the others, or Chung’s is really helping me build speed (I actually finished the entire exam). Plan to take tests five and six tomorrow and seven, eight, and nine on Monday.

hey guys, I am registered for the Math 2 subject test this week (it’s THIS week already?!). I am just not sure if I should take it. I am an international student and we haven’t covered some of the topics in school. I score around 630 on the practice test in Barron’s which is reeeeeeally low. Do you think I should go ahead and take it?
Btw, I will take Literature and Biology E for sure.

Got a 650 on Barron’s. :frowning:
But I can do a lot better on the real test.

Is geometric sequence really on the Math Level II test?

If it is, is there an easy way to explain it?

The PR prep book explains it fairly easy. If you want, I could send it to you via pm or something.

It’s fine. It would be too much trouble. I’m just wondering if it will be on the actual test. TO answer your question. If you are taking three tests, it would be better for you to study for the math test and take it later IMO.

I think it will. I have the blue CB book and there is a question about the sum of a geometric sequence, so it might come up. Thanks but I cannot take it later, January is the last testing day.

After a crushing 630 in Dec I’m coming back with vengeance. Bought Barron’s and am going through the entire book, logging my progress.

Not quite sure what to think about Barron’s. I scored 630 on the practice test but 780 on the CB blue book practice test.

Ok so I was just wondering. …I’ve been studying and I I score like 770 to 800 on the east barrons test and like 720 to 750 on the hard ones I got 730 in December so am I well prepared for Jan and what should I expect

Hawkace, I do think you need to know geometric series. remember how to get the nth term and get the sum of n terms.

doctorator I think you’re in good shape.

I’m taking it too. Good luck everyone!

@book05, my scores between Barrons and CB are about 60 points apart.

@shmluza I heard Barron’s is harder than the actual test(which I really hope). A 150 points difference, however, is still kind of crazy.

Alright so everyone is saying that the January test is supposed to be super easy. .is that true

Umm, I don’t think specific months are supposed to be “easier” than others.

If the test is easier, the curve will be harsher.

Anyone have any tips on probability questions? I’m struggling with probability, permutations, and combinations.

[AoPS Counting & Probability Videos](http://www.artofproblemsolving.com/Videos/index.php?type=counting)

Ok thanks…I wasnt sure…now for for probability if u just need a quick overview look at the spark notes for 2c its ok but thw best thing is to search it individually or look qt the princeton review or barrons book…I am bad at it as well I kinda just do things on a guess and check method…good luck

Been scoring 700-750 in Barron’s lately… THEN I scored a 690 in Dr. Chung. Still nervous…

Can someone please post a test from Dr. Chung’s? I wanna try it out.

@book05, when I first started Barrons, I was getting scores in 600s. I realized there were a lot of things my precalc class didn’t teach me. I have someone taught me. After study in the past month or so I now get better. Hopefully same will happen to you.

@MIT those videos are awesome. the whole series (books) is great.

If someone can post a test from Chung we’ll be infinitely thankful!
