****JANUARY 2015 SAT THREAD (INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS).****

@homersimpson123 that’s really hard to guess. The Writing Section seemed easy so you can expect to drop quite a few points per 2-3 mistakes, I guess. As for Math and CR, they were only very slightly tougher than usual. I’d say that a -2 on will get you an 800 on the CR and a 780 on the Math

Could you elaborate a bit more lol

Tinge, bent, stamp.

Good job guys, keep on posting questions and answers. Anyone know any other vocab questions?

@MarcoReus‌ What was your answer

Yes, the first grid in question on Maths.

Which was x + y = 11, difference is 3, find product of x & y.

YES!!! haha you got it right

Mine was stamp, I think it is wrong. Tinge it might well be.

How could the answer to that one be “fortunately”? Anyone remember what the sentence said? I thought it would be “nevertheless”. A couple of people outside the test center felt the same.

@asiankid88 For the improving paragraph the answer to transiting to the third paragraph I put down fortunately or something like that because in the end of the second paragraph he talks about how he got addicting to online gaming and stuff and this led to the decline of his social life. So fortunately would be the best answer according to me because in the starting of the 3rd para it was mentioned that he found a group to play board games and that revived his social life and stopped him from wasting time on online games.

28 is the right answer

^What he said

He had no social friends. However, he got to make social friends via the club. That’s luck, he is fortunate.

Nevertheless is kind of a “inspite of”.

@MarcoReus‌ The answer to that was x=7 and y=4 so your guess was right the answer is 28.

Also, what was the answer to that 3^2x and 9^2y question? I think I went with 81.

This and probability are the only ones that keep me away from 800.

Any other questions from that writing section? the passage for the writing i mean

@MarcoReus the nature of the sentence was such that “nevertheless” seemed more appropriate even though I understand why you’d say it should be “luckily”. Damn it I wish I remembered enough of the sentence to make my point

@MarcoReus the answer to that one was 81. What was the answer to the units digit of 7^1600

@MarcoReus‌ 3^4 = 81

@homersimpson123‌ I went with “1” for the last digit but I’m not sure.

@MarcoReus‌ 3^(2x+4y) was the answer… so u plug whatever x+2y was into the equation. I think the answer was 81 yeah good job
