@jruesmith7 I would think so. If they used the same test, there’s too high of a risk that people might know stuff about the test due to January 2016 test takers.
All of the tests in my county in Maryland are being cancelled
We’re supposed to have 15 inches of snow in New Jersey, but none of the centers in NJ are closed.
Do not listen to the collegeboard website. I know of schools that already cancelled the SAT and the website does not show it. It is not up to date at all.
that is in NJ, by the way.
A rep from collegeboard just told me if I cannot get to the test center due to weather they will let my son register for one of the makeups–even if test center is open. I am scared to trust that person because if not, that will be the end of the old test. We llive an hour from test center and are wondering if we should stay at a hotel nearby from Fri night–but the schoool wont make a decision of wether they are canceling until Sun morning. Any help is appreciated.
I need to take my subject tests but now I don’t know what to do since they postponed the test in my area
Okay, test day is coming soon… Anyone have any suggestions on what to do tomorrow?
(Or what you will do tomorrow?)
I’m probably going to just look at some news (for the essay portion) and relax
P.S. Good luck to all the peeps that are expecting snow! I know it may be stressful but
try to relax otherwise it’ll affect, not effect your score.
KEEP CALM AND TAKE THE SAT
@arcana8gleam Um, I plan on memorizing some vocab, look on final strategies and things to know for the reading and writing sections, researching stuff for the essay, and then doing a test. Then, I’ll watch a movie or something. I haven’t watched the last Hobbit movie, or the newest Maze Runner. Might memorize vocab while watching…
Oh I’m ditching school tomorrow, so I’ll have enough time to do this.
Hi guys! I’ll take the SAT tomorrow for my second time.
I got a 2100 in November: 800 writing (11e), 800 critical reading , 500 math.
Math is the worst!!! I can never seem to prepare well enough for all the questions they test me.
any advice please???
@IvanIvanIvan that’s probably the weirdest score I’ve seen
If your taking it tomorrow the best way to bring up the 500 to maybe 600 would be to ignore the hard math questions and focus on the easy and mediums, and also maybe try to go over basic math rules if you can, like how exponents work, slope and stuff…
@Yugimoto thanks!
Yeah my goal for Jan is 2200, at least 600 math. I’m a junior acing ap lang, but I’m in geometry and have a B
How uncommon is it to have 800s in two sections and then a 500??
@IvanIvanIvan pretty uncommon lol I hope you can atleast bring it up to the 600s as well
I hearD some test centers were closed cuz some students got answers. There’s an announcement on collegeboard.
@IvanIvanIvan My only perfect score is in that one section you do not have a perfect score in - switch places during the test?! just kidding
You can do it! Math is so easy to improve in if you want a 600 range score. Check which lessons are related to your mistakes and study them. That’s what you need for a 600 mainly. Do you have speed problems?
Good luck to everyone taking the SAT tomorrow! As Benjamin Franklin once said, “God only helps those who help themselves.” I hope for my 17th birthday tomorrow that my score will have a great increase, that would be the best present ever! Remember to have faith and keep dedicating yourself to your future goals! <3
I’m literally INFURIATED right now. The January SAT is supposed to be my last, and I feel so ready for it. However, my test center is closed because of weather. What’s worse is that I don’t even know when the makeup is gonna be. All right. Maybe it’s God’s will to let me do more test prep…
@tm1party At least you have more time to study. I’m trying to cram my butt off right now.
@tm1party I’m with you, although I’m not that angry. However, my test center has not been closed, but I’m expecting it to since all the other ones in the area have been closed and rescheduled(some of them have been rescheduled to February 20th). It sucks too, because like you said, this is my last time I’m taking it and I’m a senior. Some of the colleges I’m applying to said they would accept January SAT scores, but now that it’s likely that it will be canceled I hope they will accept the rescheduled date. If not, I’m okay with it I guess. I have other scores(not scores that I am the most proud of and January’s test date was suppose to be a way for me to redeem myself. My scores now aren’t horrible, they’re just not where they need to to be for my reach schools, but then again that’s why they’re reach schools I guess, lol.). Anyways I hope everything works out for the both of us and remember that everything is temporary and to keep moving forward. Also, this is just like 17% of your life and there are so many great things that will happen to you in the future that you shouldn’t let a measly test affect you too much.
