***January 2016 SAT (US Only) Thread***

because if a is say .1 and b is -.1 and c is -.4 than (a+b)^2< (b+c)^2

There was also a question that asked about a quote in the dark matter passage. Something about how we’re perhaps limiting ourselves with our observations. But also to keep in mind that in the past, dark matter could not be examined because we didn’t have the tecnology to do so.

One of the answer choices was, to admit to a doubt and then consider it as a plausible idea

@livelovelol I sais accompanying each were images… etc.

@juniormathwiz On the “which would be true about baryonic/exotic particles if the statement was true” question the answer is “exotic particles can exert gravitational force on baryonic particles”. If dark matter is made of exotic particles, planets/stars are made up of baryonic particles, and dark matter’s gravity affects planets and stars, then exotic particles can affect baryonic particles.

@smileydinosaur for the inequality question, see my first post on page 31 (post #455)

What would you predict the math curve would be this time for like 3 wrong?

What do you guys think are the chances the February 20th SAT will be the same or similar to the one taken today? If it is different, will questions be pulled from prior exams or will it be a totally new, never-before-seen test? @JuicyMango do you have any thoughts on this?

guys answer #471 first question

@tw2017 Ya, thats what I put down. It just seemed a little odd to me.

@SandrewP I would say celebrity publicity rights because the passages just focused on the rights of celebrities

that’s what i thought to

@Hickey I saw  just wanted to confirm since you asked and I wrote an explanation in case others had the same question

So my testing center was closed due to the blizzard. The make up is in February 20th which is probably way too late for any of the schools I am considering. Is there a way to get your money back?

@BasicallyBeyonce

“You will receive a partial refund of $10 of your registration fee if you call Customer Service and cancel your test registration no later than five days before the test date you are registered for.
Registrations cannot be cancelled and/or refunded later than five days before test day.”

If they give you the refund, you won’t be getting all your money back. Sorry, CB’s just greedy like that.

ugh guys i think i got two math problems wrong :(((( i was really hoping for an 800 :(( what do you guys think that will be??

It will be a 750

@smileydinosaur Which ones do you think you got wrong?

750 with 2 wrong seems really harsh

what did anyone get for that one problem that had squares with arrows on them saying what is the shortest distance to go from point A to point B? i put 18
