***January 2016 SAT (US Only) Thread***

@smileydinosaur I’m predicting this curve to be really lenient, so don’t worry. It’s mostly cause “inexplicable” is way too severe of a choice…basically saying its impossible to explain whereas untenable is saying its hard to explain. That might’ve been a completely wrong explanation lol but people agreed with “untenable” on the June 2014 thread.

@JuicyMango What would a -2 and 8 essay be according to the June sat curve? Also what is a -14 in CR?

@JuicyMango great i think I did well in writing, except maybe the disuse or unuse question that I have no memory of. I know I got 2 math wrong which really sucks bc I never do in practice. I also got like 4 or more CR wrong :frowning: I was hoping for a 2300+ since that was how I was doing on practice tests and now I cant retake it again

@smileydinosaur Hey anything can happen, don’t give up hope. Not all discussed answers on CC are always right, so who knows. I really hope the disuse/unuse question was just a figment of my imagination, because other than that I think I got perfects on all the sections (except my essay wasn’t the best…). And you always have the ACT, which is much more straightforward than the SAT, and imo, easier.

@JuicyMango ik i really hope you win your arguement and then the reading curve gets really easy. I honesty have no recollection of the disuse/unuse question I just saw it on reddit lol. I think I actually have a shot at an 800 in writing and if the math curve is the same then hopefully a 750. If the CR curve is easy then I might have a shot but honestly probably not. I will probably take the ACT or the new SAT in may :// How have you done on SATs in the past?

@smileydinosaur I’ve been getting consistent 2300’s on my practice SAT’s after I got a 2250 on my second attempt in December. If it’s on reddit, it must be a real question, but no one remembers it so I think someone just made it up or translated it wrong or something.

did anyone give the december sat in the US? if anyone ordered the answer service and has the answer key I’d be forever grateful if you could send it to me or post it xD my jan sat was identical to it. Dw I hadn’t seen any questions before so you dont need whine about us getting an unfair advantage. I can for sure hardlg anyone in my city would have seen a question beforehand.

My SAT from last Saturday was postponed due to the snow. Do you think that the questions would be the same as this forum or they would use a different version?

@isuxatsat102 It’s gotta be different, if it’s the same then that wouldn’t be fair to us January takers that already have taken it and are in possession of the QAS. I would be ticked off if it was the same.

What would 8 wrong in CR be? PLEASE ANSWER IM SO DESPERATE FOR A 700 :frowning:

@ccwwbb Use the SAT score calculator on (the college panda) website.

Hm, I did so horrible on the December one. I went in blind and technically have not been in school since 9th grade. I got a 1590 :frowning:

I’ll repeat this one again. Do you guys think there were a good amount of questions to make silly mistakes on in the CR section? I’ve gotten almost all of the questions talked about here correct, but I’m nervous that I missed some stupid ones.

Also do people think the CR curve will be good?

@SandrewP Unless you bubbled in wrong answers or you totally guessed on sentence completion, then making silly mistakes sounds irrelevant. I’m not a high scorer on CR sections but when it gets down to passage reading I’m always serious as I can be and I can’t afford to make silly errors like I do in math. No one knows what the actual curve will be like but there are good predictions made by others on this thread.

You want some action? wait till feb 11th

It is quite dead to be honest. I dk if people are busy, not caring, or fearful about sharing answers, but personally myself I’m busy with schoolwork. XD

Hahaha it’s going to get so bad the night/morning preceding the 11th with everyone anticipating the wait @ananyadoodles

I have midterms this week so I havent been very active. Do you guys think that the jan curve will be like the june one since the tests were the same?

I’ve been clutching all my grades this week, but scoring well on this test is super important for me because if I don’t that mean I have to think about either taking the New SAT or the ACT, both of which I’m not keen on studying for.

@smileydinosaur It should be pretty much the same…how can curves differ one the same test? Hopefully the curves are similar because they were really lenient (except for math).
