I thought it would be cool to have a discussion for the next few days with everyone taking the exam.

Post anything you’d like whether it be goal scores, how you think the test will be, how you preped.

I am a junior and this will be my first time taking the SAT. My goal is to get a 1700. And my overall goal is to get into Penn State.

well you should aim higher about 2000 if you want a shot at penn state univ, univ park

I mean that would be nice, but average is about 1730-40 there.
I personally know someone who somehow got in with a 1560 (but I can’t count on that)
The trouble with aiming so high is that my math is scratchy, and my essay is unpredictable

@dynamitesamurai‌ I think that as long as I can stay focused on the passages I’ll do fine.

I think investing time in memorizing vocabulary really pays off:

  1. You can make great use of them in your essay
  2. Helps eliminate choices in vocab section --> more time for passages
  3. Overall helps you comprehend passages

Yeah, I’ve memorized most if the 250 most common words according to Gruber’s

Hoping the third time is the charm for me. Only focusing on math section since the others are already 700+.

dont listen to the guy saying you should have a 2000 to get penn state main, my sister didn’t break 1700 and was easily admitted to business college at uni park, a 1700 is easily enough.

last march i scored 1840, hoping for around 2000, but expecting a 1950.

@Kylemcgrogan‌ yeah, that’s what I’m thinking. Now the dilemma I’d picking a song for my alarm.

Has anyone else’s SAT been postponed because of weather? It’s supposed to snow tomorrow where I am. I now have to take my SAT IIs Feb. 7th.

Same. Idk if colleges will still look at it.
