January SAT 2012 CR International Compiled List of Answers.

1.) Stupid error writing “enforce” instead of “relax” on one of the SC
2.) Writing manga is “more sophisticated” as a response to “Is Manga Art?”
3.) Putting “acknowledge a contrary view” for the parenthesis question [though I think this still has some life in it]
4.) Put reflective instead of “droll”

meh.

^ can you please elaborate the droll question?

Droll means slightly humorous. I personally didn’t know the meaning of the word, but after eliminating every other choice, droll was the only one remaining, so I went with it.

3.) Putting “acknowledge a contrary view” for the parenthesis question [though I think this still has some life in it] -for that there were two questions from different passages that asked a similar question, i put ur answer for one, but i think the disparity is that people are getting the passages mixed up, so their stating their answer for one passage in reagrds to the answer for another passage.

The passage with the answer ‘acknowledge a contrary view’ was in the archaeologists passage, and it was an incorrect answer. I am very sure of this one. We debated this in the first or second page, paigedah, so feel free to go back a few pages.

No there was only one. “I believe that Mangas are (some would argue most)…” I really think it is still acknowledging a contrary view…

no there were two one was in the manga passage and one in the garbage passage the one in the garabge said experts believe that much(some say most) of the … or something like that, put acknowlegde contrary view, becuz they are similar, yet still are different.

Garbage passage was the droll one.

I’m certain the celebrity one was incorrect:

"a lurid expos

Oh, ignore me, that’s resolved.

The droll one was when we were asked to comment on a statement in brackets:

trash (although fresher) in museums

…or something like that.

You are worrying about -3 and -4 :open_mouth:
I’m -10 (8 questions wrong)… Not even a 600 :(

Guys, did anyone put discursive instead of uneven?

‘the histories of Africa and Europe are ----, knowing both periods of humanity and brutality’

^ do you remember the other options to that question?

Secondly, what about the orcas question? what did you get for those
and i put uneven for that qtn

doesn’t discursive means off topic?

I only remember discursive and uneven. The answer was uneven, (for sure - check the december 2009 thread).

What were the orcas questions? I think I said memory and agility, and then something about skillful maneuvering

wasnt it “…hard to study sth” …because i clearly remember it said somewhere that they were hard to find/catch since they used to hide in holes sth and then large boats were used

it means all over the place, incoherently ordered… but it’s more often applied to speech than anything else. I was really wary of uneven because of the imagery it evokes - European and African histories didn’t seem “uneven”. But whatever, uneven’s right.

-1

Sigh, so far I have 2 wrong, :(. I’m pretty sure there are more to come.

Yeah, I have no idea what I put for the function of the star… :(

^ can you please explain your reasoning?..i didnt find anything that referred to their ability…also the first line stated that they are amongst the unstudied animals sth along these lines
DMAO what did you put for orcas questions?
