January SAT Writing Section

I put, "In failing, one must first make an attempt", because it shows that By failing, you must make the initial attempt?

I believe there was a comma: "to fail, one must first make an attempt" As a result, the infinitive is simply moved to the begging for emphasis of the author's point about failure yielding success.

Grammatically, this is the same as saying "one must first make an attempt to fail" but putting a comma there would make no sense imo.

that last setence error one in a section... IT had news... is.. I said "is" is the error b/c news is plural (thought it was trick) but thats wrong right?? according to barrons

news is singular.

Yeah i put A for the too fail one

Is it correct to say " the use of technology in treatment"

I thought it was "for the use of technology for treatment", but I think I changed it to No Error...

Ditto for A.

For the heart disease one, the answer I put had an "it" in it because I think it had no pronoun antecedent

Yeah, for the heart disease one I did the same thing.

yea for the heart disease one i thought "its" was an ambiguous pronoun

i think it could have referred to the conditon of coronary arteries, the research on heart disease, or technology

I put like 5 no errors near the end. like 3 no-errors, 1 error, then 2 no-errors

what did everyone get for the "failure" paragraph improvement? I didn't get any c,d,or e. strangely, i got something like aabbba

For the last identifying errors question, did you guys get A or E? It was something like "for the ___,...it was surprising". Can you use "for" in that case (instead of "to")?

for the story passage about the kid going to ireland, when he saw the peoples faces and saw his grandmother, wat was the answer anyone remembner?

that was the experimental section. I believe that that sentence was out of place wherever they wanted to put it so it had to be deleted

what is the answer to the sentence ID question with the bus and the detour?

i put no error i think

^oooooo yay!! i hope ur right.

^ yeah i hope you're right for that one too, haha, that's what i put.

was the one with "either aesthetic or intellectual appeal" (something like that) nothing wrong?

lol it's great, how the SAT gives us a passage on failing... and basically everyone i know who scores high on these sorts of things walk out of the room and say... "i failed..."
hah

And yeah, carsonne! i got that! but it was such a weird sentence, i had to read it over 10 times before i got that it was technically a correct sentence.
