So, I just took the SAT subject test in Japanese and I was wondering what would be considered a passing score??
Well, a 750 is the 50th percentile, but the scores tend to be skewed by native speakers. What’s “acceptable” is subjective. If you’re happy, the score acceptable. If it gets you out of the college’s foreign language graduation requirement, the score is acceptable. If you’re applying to HYPMS, well, then ideally, the score should tart with a 7 or 8.
So really, it depends.
I got a 530… My CD didn’t work for a couple of questions so not too disappointed. Thought it was a very hard test.
My D got a 610 (not a native speaker, no Japanese heritage). Think the language tests are so skewed by native speakers taking them it’s not even worth it for anyone else to try.
