Jason, Chrisr88, Thanks!

How much does a parking permit cost... approximately?

I came across this that has the rates for parking permits..

Thanks! :)

Thanks for answering so fast!

Another question: I know that med school requires a year of bio and lab. Which bio course am I suppose to take? I see a lot of upper-levels and some are bio-sci major only while I'm psych major.

uknohu:

I can't really answer this, but I have some info that may help. A friend of mine told me the bio with the lab can be any. I would look at medical schools and see how they correspond to UCI when dealing with admissions requirements. I know as a fact that the bio class is NOT upper-division. You can get into any of the med-school requirement courses.

Jason, Is Textbooks important for classes? I heard some classes you don't need textbook at all....

Hi. So how early do you think I should start to go if my class begins at 9? Would an hour be enough to get on the freeway, get there, and find parking spaces? I live in Garden Grove if you need to know. Would there be a lot of traffic driving there or going home?

Tetsu:

It really...really...really depends.

sweetdream:

I can't measure how long it would take for you to get to UCI in traffic. You have a huge standard deviation when you deal with traffic. Also, traffic occurs at certain hours. Usually from 7-10am and 3-7pm. I would definitely ask your parents.

From Garden Grove, I assume you'll be taking the 91 to the 5 freeway. Keep in mind that the 91 is bad all day long and that the 91-5 interchange is incredibly bad, at least every time I've taken it.

uh...i think its the 22 to the 5

22 isnt too bad....its just the 5 that sucks monkey balls

...it is stop and go...stop and go

probobly more like 40 minutes

Its 22 freeway to the 5

OR

22 to 55 to 73.

I live near garden grove (westminster) and the drive is about 20-25 min max (not completely sure because it was a while ago)

live too far north to know all the OC freeways. Either way, factoring in rush hour traffic, I'd say leave before 8:15 just in case it's worse than usual.

First off, thanks for the help you guys, especially Jason and ShoeFactory. Again I have a question, pretty simple I think: What are discussion classes?

Hey, I have a question regarding Quantitave Economics.
I know that Business Econ and Econ are impacted majors, but I was wondering if Quantitative Econ was imapacted. Anyother information regarding this major would be helpful.

Thanks. (I know Q. Econ isn't your major, but any info regarding it would be appreciated)

Discussion classes are held by TAs for one hour. TAs are usually graduate students at the university. The discussion is designed to discuss about class topics to better understand everything. Also, homeworks might be turned in, and quizzes might be taken. In these case, discussion is mandatory. Otherwise, it is usually optional to attend. I definitely recommend attending discussions since they can be extremeley helpful especially if you want that A.

Bizecon might be an impacted major at UCI. I'm not so sure about that. Other than that, economics and quantitative economics are NOT impacted whatsoever. Because none of these are hard majors, popularity among the year's applicant pool can be the only factor raising the bars for admissions. If that happens, it's usually by only a little. Bizecon is very popular though.

jason: i got into arroyo vista &the meal plan is voluntary***, do you recommend a meal plan and what type?
i can cook, but i'm sure i'll get tired of cooking 3 times a day//
