Jester East vs West

Is there really any difference between the two? If so, what?

Jester West has a lot more shared bathrooms. Jester East has some renovated floors, so the rooms are newer and “nicer”. Other than that, there isn’t much difference. I just prefer Jester East because the layout is simpler and I don’t get lost, haha.

Jester East > Renovated Rooms on most floors, detached from Jester Center (have to walk outside for a few steps)

Jester West > Older rooms > Don’t have to go outside for Jester Center (Food, wendys, etc)

Jester West has a nice study lounge on ground floor, more elevators (14 floors). The computer lab is right under jester west, so are ping pong and pool tables. All these resources are available to both East and West residents. I prefer East because I think it is quieter and the furniture and rooms are practically new.

West is better because it’s bigger and more clean! The lobby is better too :)

I currently live in West, but I have some friends in East and stayed there during orientation. Overall, I’d say that I prefer West. It has a nicer lobby with a 24-hour study lounge, and it’s more attached to the food/market area. Like another person said, it also has a larger amount of connected bathrooms, which is definitely a plus - maybe it just depends on the floor, but the community bathrooms I had during orientation were awful! I like the layout of the connected bathroom rooms a lot better, too. I think they’re a bit more spacious than the normal rooms.

On the other hand, a few rooms in East have been renovated, but there’s only a small chance that you’ll be lucky enough to get one. It seems a little quieter than West (from what I’ve noticed), and you don’t have to walk through the busy “main” area to exit the building… which is kind of nice, especially when it’s crowded and there’s a lot of people passing out fliers. The only drawback of that is that you have to go outside to get to the cafeteria, which can be inconvenient when it’s really cold or raining.
