Hi! I visited RPI with my son and we fell in love with it. The one question we have is what sort of Jewish life there is on campus that he could participate in.
I am interested in this also. My daughter will be attending in the fall and I could find very little information on the internet. It seems there is a Hillel; but, how active is it? The Website does not seem to be updated.
I have the same questions. Thanks for starting this thread.
Hillel website says 6% Jewish and a chapter onsite.
I went to the RPI/ Hillel Facebook page and found this:
"Hillel is the Jewish student organization serving the students of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Russell Sage College. Hillel’s mission is “to maximize the number of Jews doing Jewish things with other Jews.” In order to accomplish this, we host weekly Shabbat dinners, holiday events, cultural events such as challah baking, and social events such as Fondue Against Humanity.
We have Shabbat dinner in the Shelnutt Gallery, Union 3606 every week of class. Currently, services start at 5:00 and dinner starts at 5:30. If you aren’t comfortable with services, it is okay to just come join us for dinner.
As a pluralistic community, we welcome Jews of all backgrounds and beliefs. We also welcome non-Jewish students who want to come participate in our events.
Feel free to contact us with questions, suggestions, or anything else.

Reach out to their Hillel. Religion of any sort does not seem big on campus and they have many religious options available and they have Chaplains for three major religions.
