congratulations!!
I thought JHU didn’t send LLs… but I guess this class is special!

What’s a likely letter?

[Let me google that for you](<a href=“LMGTFY - Let Me Google That For You”>LMGTFY - Let Me Google That For You)

Thanks for the link. No offense, that was a little rude. I don’t live every second on CC - in fact, I seem to remember you writing several screeds against doing so - and so I’ve never come across the term. At least now I’ve gotten a picture of what reaching out for help at JHU would be like.

Opensesame… I think if anyone has the right to be rude, it’s AdmissionsDan… I also happen to think your post trumps his in rudeness. Had you looked but 3 threads down you would have seen a thread about likely letters…

“I’ve never come across the term. At least now I’ve gotten a picture of what reaching out for help at JHU would be like.”

If anything help at JHU is superb… The fact that AdmissionsDan takes time off his busy schedule should tell you something about the sort of help they provide

I’m sure he had no intention of being rude. Actually, next time, maybe you should try googling it yourself before posting it on a thread. A question like that can easily be answered by another source as it is not a subjective question. Also, as Zap pointed out, the thread you were looking for was right near the one you posted on…

@opensesame: AdmissionD does not deserve your remark ‘a little rude’. He is one of very very very few extremely helpful school reps in this amazing website - a God-send. You really should have spent a bit more time here before calling anybody rude…

Also, here is my tip: whenever I have q’s, I click ‘» CC HOME’ on the top lefthand corner. I type in my q’s, and answers are all there. That way, you don’t even have to go to google. :)

Wait when do decisions become available? aka death

My apologies if you thought my response was rude as that was not my attention at all. I use the “let me google that for you” site all the time as a tongue-in-cheek joke and most of my friends find it quite humorous. As well, by googling the question you get a variety of responses so you can gain a more thorough response to your question. I would have shared a post where I defined “likely letters” but I have never posted such a comment on College Confidential before and felt a quick google search could provide you with the information you requsted.

^^ when do the decisions come out ? Date and time ?

^ I’d like to know also.

He’s not going to answer that question. You’ll have to wait until the official date release.

Any idea how difficult it is for international students to get financial aid?

Pretty difficult. We only fund about 10% of international students requesting financial aid. Our admissions process is need-blind for all applicants aside from international students. Further details can be found here:
[Johns Hopkins University Office of Undergraduate Admissions - Apply - Frequently Asked Questions - International](http://apply.jhu.edu/apply/faq_international.html)

According to the Johns Hopkins Common Data Set for 2009-2010, only 27 undergraduate International Students received any form of financial aid.

If we didn’t get a likely letter, does that mean that we’re pretty much rejected?

only a minority of accepted students receive a likely letter so don’t freak out just yet :)

What is the percentage of students that were accepted after being deferred ED? I’m super nervous!

I don’t know but I’m pumped for tomorrow. Hopefully it’ll get to me before I have to go out tomorrow night!
