JHU CTY Distance Education

Has anyone ever done this and taken a math course? Can you give me a review of your experience? According to CTY, most of the math classes usually take about 6th months to complete. Can they be completed in a much shorter time??

I took Algebra I & II. The courses are really good, I learned much more than Algebra I when I took that course, and much more than the "average" Algebra II course. It's a bit of work, but I finished in time, and made As for both classes. It took me 6 months to finish, and that was a perfect amount of time for me. Unfortunately..my school didn't accept the Algebra II class I took, so now I'm stuck in the school's algebra II class which is just a joke compared to what I learned before. If you worked hard in Algebra II, you could probably do it in a shorter time...but if you sign up for the 3 month course, I think you're really pushing the limits. They cover a whole lot of stuff. I had a good tutor too, Daphne, for both times..she was awesome. If you're really motivated, you'll finish the class in time with a good grade.

I've taken a CTY math course - dumbest thing ever. All you do is buy an overpriced book and self-study for 7 hours a day. The instructors are rarely of any help. If you want to complete the course, you can't even do any practice problems - all you do is read the book. The only good thing was that I got to skip Geometry in high school (this frees me to take AP Calculus AB my junior year).

I've taken computer science and physics at CTY.
Physics at CTY is my recommendation.
