I have recently heard that some of my peers applying to JHU are applying to majors that are not as competitive in order to get in. For example, if a person has a Bio background but decides to apply to say English. Is that a viable strategy if their English background isn’t so bad either? I was personally thinking of applying as Mechanical Engineering/Materials Sciences, but not sure if Whiting School of Engineering might be more competitive than Krieger (I am not applying to biomedical engineering)? Thanks!
