<p>I am currently a Freshman at Radford but I very unhappy with my current school and know that I want to transfer this upcoming Spring semester. I just wanted to know what my chances for getting into either JMU or UVA for Spring.</p>

<p>College Credentials:
Expected GPA: 4.0
4 classes totaling 13 hours of credit</p>

<p>High School Credentials:
24 of college credit (AP and Dual)
3.56 GPA
1260 SAT's
Varsity Sports, Club, Church, etc.</p>

<p>JMU and UVA more than likely will not take your application for a Spring Transfer because you are a freshman. I know how unfortunate it is…I wanted to transfer after fall semester to Virginia Tech but they don’t take spring transfers for Freshmen either. I’m sorry to hear your experience isn’t that great at Radford. </p>

<p>If your first semester GPA is as good as you expect, I’m sure you’ll be able to get into either of the schools for next fall.</p>

<p>Here’s the info I found on transferring for both of the schools.

The transfer admission process at JMU is competitive. To be eligible to apply for transfer admission, a student must have completed or be in the process of completing at least 24 credit hours post-high school graduation. Due to the competitive nature of our admissions process, JMU offers admission to a very small number of students who only have one year of college coursework at their previous institution.

Students interested in spring admission must have 24 credit hours earned and completed prior to the application deadline of Nov. 1. For this reason it is highly unlikely that a student in the first year of college would be permitted to apply as a spring transfer applicant.
