Anyone have any experience working at Kumon as a reading tutor (or math)? I was considering getting a job at my local one and would much prefer tutoring reading/English over math but haven’t been able to find anyone who’s actually tutored reading.
Also, can I just inquire about positions over the phone? Is that allowed/appropriate? thanks!
Kumon is a franchise so each one is different. I’d recommend calling yours.
If it’s anything like the one I worked at, you’re basically going to make sure younger kids can pronounce all their sounds and read fluently. You would probably be “tutoring” both math and reading though…and by tutoring I mean watching them fill out the Kumon packets. There’s not much to it.
