Hi all,
So I’ve been trying to find an online job because I had a job during my senior year that I just quit around exam time and now I don’t wanna go back there bc they’re offering me limited hours and minimum wage. I was about to get another job, but the 2 I applied to sort of demand more hours that I can’t work bc I’m volunteering or going on family vacations, etc.
Anyways, I was on CollegeVine and I saw that they actually hire undergraduate students (I’m a rising freshman at a top research university) and I sent in my resume and then they notified me that I moved on to the next step. I didn’t realize that this was going to be a rigorous hiring process and that they won’t hire me (I really thought that just bc I was admitted into one of the schools they listed, they’d like me or at least offer an interview) but the next step was editing essays. I love giving college advice, but I had 2 days to edit these essays and it was during my graduation weekend so I didn’t spend more than 1 hour on the assignment (I didn’t do too bad though…) but I didn’t get the job. The email said that they don’t have space right now but I know others who have gotten the job.
So, since I won’t be working at CollegeVine haha, I was wondering if people know about more companies or anything similar where I could apply for a job. It doesn’t have to be online like this one was, but now that I think abt I’d love to get a job where I can help seniors out with college stuff and give advice. I know most require a bachelor’s degree so idk any ideas of types of jobs I could apply to.
I am 18 and my job during senior year was at a tutoring center (with kids that were pretty young haha) and I don’t really want that again.
