Job Recruiting at Yale

I was just wondering: do business firms recruit at Yale heavily at the undergraduate level? I know it is almost imperative that a prospective MBA have work experience before entering business school, and I was wondering (current students please answer! :) ) how the job opportunities are in the business field (such as investment banking, etc.) right out of college. Thanks!

Oh, also, are there good internship opportunities for this around New Haven....for summer or during the school year to gain experience before graduating?

Well i dont go to Yale... but i know at Amherst/Dartmouth and other top schools top investment firms and such recruit entirely from top colleges... so im sure you can get your 100K+ investment analyst job right out of college no prob... and the best part is most of the top firms just sign you for 2 years or so, which is the perfect amount of job experience to apply to top schools for MBA

my mom works for ge corporate and is always telling me how they don't recruit at ivies (to make me feel better for when i don't get accepted...?). i don't know about anywhere else, i can't imagine it being a difficulty though

I hear I-banks recruit a lot at Yale, but they look for rising Seniors.

Thanks for the responses. Yeah, I'm seriously considering the MBA, so the investment banking analyst job would be perfect, like thx4thehelp mentioned. thx4thehelp: are you serious about getting a 100+ grand job right out of college?? That would be nice.

Investment banks / other finance firms, consulting firms, and many government agencies recruit at Yale both for internships during the summer and for full time jobs for graduating seniors. Some corporations (i.e. Abercrombie and Fitch) also recruit aggresively for students to do marketing/management training. There will be many opportunities to interview for jobs coming from Yale, which also provides solid prep for graduate school and various fellowships.

Thanks Yalesocietymember. Do you know how competitive these jobs are? Obviously they are hard to get, but how aggressive do you have to be to actually land an offer while competing against such brilliant individuals? Thanks!
