Jobs for Freshman at UCLA

Is it difficult for a freshman, who's never had a job, to get one at UCLA? I've heard good things about the hourly pay at UCLA. Did / do you have a job at UCLA? Where do you work? Do you like it?

I'm also trying to find out more information about Work Study, however I'm not sure if I quality just yet.

It's not difficult. You can work at Ackerman Bearwear, UCLA Call Center, UCLA Dining Services, Usher for Royce Live!, ... etc. The list goes on and on. You'll see opportunities posted practically everywhere.

You can also work as a Community Service Officer.

You qualify for work-study if you receive financial aid - it'll be posted on your eFAN later this month. It's easy to get a job here - whether for ASUCLA, work-study or even in Westwood since they're usually hiring cashiers, etc.

I didn't get work study but it wasn't hard getting a job my first year. a lot of opportunities.

There's an "Internships" link in MyUCLA that you might want to check out. You might find an internship that is open to freshmen.

its easy to get a job here...however itt depends what kind of job you want. some jobs are a lot harder to get than otehres

bannana_girl got the gist of what I wanted to say.

Basically, there are plenty of jobs but it just depends on what type of job you want to do. Eg. Food services, there are plenty of jobs with UCLA catering, dining, working in Ackerman, etc... but many people have a preference towards a desk job.
