What kind of work can you find with an Economics degree? It opens up opportunities in so many different fields, I can't really wrap my head around what I might want to do or what fields I may want to enter if I choose to major in Econ.

And once you're placed into one of these jobs, what is the daily work like? I want to know more about the actual tasks that people in economics/business/finance do each day, and what the stress level is like. How much face time with people/clients, meetings, traveling, paperwork, advising/consulting, etc. occurs in different jobs for the economics field? I'm an introvert who doesn't like dealing with huge groups of people all the time. I'm currently interested in policy and advising/consulting people or corporations and would like to know what that kind of job would be like, as well as what other things I might pursue after an Economics degree.

Also, how useful is the Economics PhD in the job world?

(For the record, I'm a freshman applicant considering an Economics and English/Creative Writing double major.)
