jobs @ MIT

What do you '10 ers plan on doing as far as getting a job?

And has anyone tried becoming a lifeguard @ MIT? If so, do you have more info on that (e.g. hours, pay, how to get the job, pros & con, etc)

Thanks!

Most likely a job at the library...or ARC ...or a UROP

The Z-Center employment page says that lifeguards make $9.75-12.20 per hour, and that you're expected to work 2-10 hours per week.

I have an acquaintance who lifeguards, and she seems to like it quite a bit.

how/when do we go about applying for jobs on campus? do we wait until orientation? i was interested in working in admissions somehow...

Yes, you should probably wait until you get to campus to apply for a job. Most places accept applications for at least Orientation and the first week or so of school.

I want to become a blogger. :D

being a blogger would be cool, I would really like any job that is either doing research, using computers and/or processing data.
